    Job Description Come join our awesome team as a temporary Clinic Support with Senior Community Care of Colorado in Eckert. Senior Community Care of Colorado PACE is part of Volunteers of America National Services which serves as the Housing and Healthcare subsidiary of the Volunteers of America parent organization. Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour based on experience. Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm, 80-hours per pay period The Clinic Support staff are to perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of the Clinic Manager. Responsibilities include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories; preparing exam rooms and patients for clinic appointments; providing medical treatments within their scope of practice as directed by the PCP or RN, maintaining all required documentation for clinic appointments; timely scheduling of outside medical specialty appointments, and coordination of transportation to/from these appointments. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Successful completion of a state approved training program in Medical Assisting or Certified Nurse's Aide Experience: Minimum of one-year experience working with a frail or elderly population required. Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations after having direct participant contact. Must have a valid driver's license and have means of transportation. Other Skills and Abilities Required: Effective communicator with staff, families and outside agencies. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action and as delegated by the licensed nurse. Ability to prioritize duties. Customer service oriented with knowledge of successful customer service techniques. Ability to understand medical charts, doctor's orders, the participant's plan of care, Primary Care Provider orders, and, to communicate with participants and staff. Numerical ability necessary for proper measuring of clinical details in monitoring specific participant appointments. Motor coordination and manual dexterity are required to move and use hands easily and skillfully while passing medications and giving treatments. Able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during an emergency situation. Must meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by Senior Community Care and approved by CMS after working independently. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Prepare exam/treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean throughout the day. Greet and check in patients arriving at the clinic. Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the Primary Care Provider visit. Interview participants and their family/care giver to obtain all necessary medical information. Measure participants' vital signs, weight, and height as necessary. Assist the Primary Care Provider in the examination and treatment of participants including handing the provider necessary instruments or materials. Perform appropriate clinical tasks within their scope of practice, as directed by the provider such as giving injections, basic wound care, toenail trimming in non-diabetic participants, and removing sutures. Record participants' medical history, vital statistics, or other information such as test results in medical records. Clean and sanitize exam/treatment rooms after participant appointments. Dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards. Restock clinic supplies in each exam room at the end of each day per established par levels. In collaboration with the clinic manager, orders, receives and stocks clinic/medical supplies. Schedule participant visits within the PACE clinic & with outside medical providers. Coordinate with transportation department to schedule transportation to/from PACE clinic and outside provider appointments. Assist providers with providing participants and family/caregiver with important information following the clinic appointment including reason for visit, medication changes, diagnostic tests and referrals ordered, and recommended follow-up appointments. Obtain access to internal or contracted systems as necessary to assist with provider with obtaining relevant clinical information related to participant care. Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, word processing, copying, faxing, and scanning. Contact medical care facilities, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities or others as directed to assist the Primary Care Provider in securing outside medical appointment records to be entered into the electronic medical record. Inventory and order medical, lab, or office supplies. Performs other duties as required or requested.
