Advanced Environmental Group, Inc. (AEG) is seeking a Safety Specialist - Site Safety Officer in California. The health and safety technician will support the AEG Safety Team. This position is designed for individuals with 3-5+ years of experience in the construction safety and environmental remediation field. This individual must be familiar with general construction, drilling, heavy equipment operation and large-scale remedial/construction activity. This contracted position is a full-time.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Full time assignment to complete a variety of health and safety related roles in support of a major projects. The CHST , ASP or CHST/ASP candidate will provide oversight of field crews performances during, installation and testing; construction of remediation well-head infrastructure; above-ground water storage infrastructure; buildings and above-ground structures; grading and earthwork; construction of electrical infrastructure; and, controls/instrumentation activities. All site work will be conducted in accordance with Cal/OSHA (Construction and General Industry) Safety Orders; site specific health and safety plan(s); and, AEG policies and procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years' experience performing full time construction health and safety related tasks including: managing safety programs, processes, conducting hazard analyses and audits, and developing controls;
Certified Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST ) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP ) or meet requirements to sit and pass exam;
40-hour OSHA Hazwoper Certified or training to be provided;
Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA, EPA, NFPA, & ANSI safety related regulations.
Good time management skills and communication; and,
Experience using MS Office Suite products required.
REQUIRED DRIVING STATEMENT

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must have the ability to independently lift and carry objects safely that weigh up to 50 pounds.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT
Field work and desk/office work. As necessary, must be able to travel to other work areas, be aware of safety requirements for those areas, and work within those constraints (e.g. access procedures and proper PPE). Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the project site.
CRITICALITY OF ATTENDANCE
Regular attendance and punctuality is required. Project schedule and is based on a 8-hour day, 5 days per week. Overtime may be required through duration of the job.

* An average of at least twenty-four (24) hours of formal safety training each year for the past five years (typical training acceptable: Competent Person Excavation & Trenching, First Aid & CPR, Fall Protection Training, Electrical Hazards, Hazard Communication, Driver Training, Confined Space Hazards, Hazardous Material Training, etc.). Current 40 Hour Construction Hazard Awareness Course (EM385-1-1) and working knowledge of OSHA and EM385-1-1 and other state and federal agency safety requirements.

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Aviation Safety Manager with a strong background in Flight Safety Management to oversee the operational safety of our KC-135 aerial refueling fleet during flight operations. This role is not an EHS, OSHA, quality, or maintenance safety position. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Flight Safety Manager and preferably be a qualified aviator (military or civilian).
Reporting to the FAA Accountable Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of an ICAO Annex 19-compliant Safety Management System (SMS) for flight operations. We are looking for a Bilingual (Spanish) Environmental Health & Safety Manager for our Milgard Windows & Doors Temecula, CA plant.
This position will administer facility Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Programs in accordance with OSHA, ANSI, EPA, local/state/federal regulatory requirements and corporate policies, standards, procedures, and objectives. The role will report to the site operational leaders (i.e. Plant Manager, Operations Director, etc.) with a "dotted line" responsibility to the Corporate EHS representative. The EHS Manager will facilitate and promote proactive involvement within the facility(s) for all EHS initiatives and business activities to increase health and safety awareness, participation, and accountability. This role will provide day-to-day tactical support, in addition to the planning, development, administration and management of safety policies, programs and training for the organization, in partnership with the Leadership Team. The EHS Manager will be someone with a strong EHS educational background and EHS experience along with experience in leadership roles within a manufacturing or related industry.

* Manages and mentors the EHS Generalist and Coordinators as an internal resource on regulatory and safety policy issues and help develop processes with documented procedures for compliance as required.
* Assist department managers, leaders, and team members with implementation of creative approaches to improve safety, minimize environmental footprint and liability, and implement EHS initiatives
* Establish and maintain training programs for all levels of operation - New Hire Orientation, Forklift, First Aid/CPR, AED and Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP), Fall Protection, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Emergency Planning and more.
* Work with engineering in the design and installation of new or altered equipment or processes with the goal of eliminating or reducing health/safety hazards and environmental impact.
* Maintain compliance on key EHS related initiatives, reporting requirements and auditing.
* Provide new employee health and safety orientations and develop materials for these presentations.
* Establish training programs for all levels of operation - New Hire Orientation, Forklift, First Aid/CPR, AED and Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP), Fall Protection, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Emergency Planning and more.
* Coordinate "right-to-know" programs regarding hazardous chemicals or other substances.
* Participate in periodic hands-on safety audits of manufacturing work areas with plant operations leaders and assist in resolution of identified issues.
* Inspect specified areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, or first-aid supplies.
* Ensure compliance with our required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
* Advise elimination, substitution, engineering, administrative or PPE controls to eliminate hazards and reduce exposures when hazards cannot be eliminated.
* Make recommendations for hazard controls based on comprehensive analysis.
* Promote, guide and champion various safety committees as well as serving as the Safety Committee's Subject Matter Expert (SME).
* Develop training materials pertaining to safety issues as required by operations due to new or changing Federal or State regulations. Provides the training materials and delivers the training directly to all required employees.
* Actively leads and drives Risk Assessment and Behavioral Safety programs to eliminate/reduce environmental, health and safety risks and to meet identified facility targets.
* Motivates and coaches team members through good communication and frequent performance feedback on the production floor.
* Develops and manages department budget.
* Develops and tracks KPIs and presents EHS metrics to leadership.
* You will be on the plant floor for 70% of your time. 30% of your time will be in the office but of that 30% will be data entry as well as generating reports.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Engineering or Science preferred
* At least 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or related industry.
* Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) highly preferred.
* Minimum of 1 year of experience supervising and directing people and other resources.
* Knowledge of all Federal, State, Local regulations and industry requirements.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills as you will work one-on-one with all levels of the organization.
* Self-Start with Root Cause Analysis skills.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
* Prior experience training small and large groups.
* Willing to travel occasionally as needed (10% or less)
