PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Protects the motoring public by conducting traffic enforcement fairly, consistently and courteously to deter traffic violations and prevent traffic crashes. Determines if violations of law or ordinance have occurred and take appropriate law enforcement action if necessary. Brings cases before the courts and testifies as required in court in the pursuit of justice. Detects/deters crime within assigned area by use of problem oriented law enforcement practices. Acts pursuant to law to safely transfers prisoners to jail or between various local, county, state, or federal facilities.
