DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain a safe, supportive environment within the facility. Monitor facility to support the safety of clients and facility. Ensure residents are following guidelines. Prep and serve meals that have been assigned by Lead Cook or aid volunteers who are serving meals, following all food safety guidelines and regulations. Maintain a home-like atmosphere through tasks like cleaning and organization. Encourage completion of chores by residents. Perform general administrative duties to include answering phones, making copies, and faxing. Turnover and clean resident rooms, as needed (following a family moving out) and prepare the room for new families. Provide supportive listening and maintain professional boundaries with residents, as needed. Build relationships with helpful community members by guiding and assisting them as they donate items or volunteer their time. Engage in opportunities to grow as a professional by attending workshops and training provided. Employ a Trauma Informed service philosophy when developing interaction opportunities for clients, volunteers, and service providers. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent, relevant work experience may be substituted for some college work. Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Microsoft 365) and ability to learn the latest programs. Ability to maintain clear personal and professional boundaries. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work weekends, nights and holidays. Ability to work effectively in a constantly changing and sometimes stressful environment, while maintaining a positive and solution-oriented approach. Team oriented, flexible and willing to help in other areas as needed. Cooperative, friendly, and helpful attitude with residents and other staff members. Exhibit effective critical thinking skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to walk for your entire shift (3 to 8 hours per day) with intermittent occasional standing, bending, squatting, or climbing. Ability to remain alert and on duty throughout shifts. Ability to lift over 50 pounds when necessary.
