As a Landscape Lead, You Will..
The Landscape Lead will assist with the overall general maintenance and upkeep of grounds areas and sport turf field, to include the painting of the field as applicable per event, and removal of paintings/markings following an event. Additionally, the Landscape Lead will assist with the assignment and coordination of work, utilization of proper materials and equipment, while ensuring adherence to Hollywood Park's safety protocols and requirements.

Organize and monitor workflow for efficiency and timeliness. Set priorities based on conditions, weather, special events, etc. Adjust as needed. Review work for quality, completion, accuracy and adherence to internal policies and procedures.
Provide recommendations on materials, supplies and equipment required to deliver scope of responsibilities. Assist with ordering materials, supplies, and equipment within budget.
Create and maintain a system of inventory and usage for all materials, supplies and equipment. Liaises with vendors on issues related to products, services and delivery.
Assist with recruitment, development and training of all department staff to be compliant with OSHA and Hollywood Park safety protocols and standards.
Cutting turf, trimming and edging along borders, and blowing using power equipment.
Pruning shrubs and low trees to improve the growth habit or remove damaged branches.
Planting and maintaining flower beds, and applying mulch.
Picking up trash and debris.
Performing weeding by hand or using a garden hoe or hula hoe.
Maintaining a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with guests and customers.
Proactively assist in identifying and resolving issues.
Prioritize maintaining the landscape design and aesthetic, ensuring healthy, florushing biomes.

Position Summary

Essential Responsibilities:

Work Project Implementation:

Responsible for safe work practices, proper use of and maintenance of tools, vehicles and equipment.
Assist with the responsibility of corpsmember weekly schedule
Responsible for quality control of work.
Training and Instruction:
Conduct corpsmember training and instructional presentations or workshops in such areas as recycling, First Aid/CPR, safety, driver training, tool safety, environmental education or other areas related to project work or program goals.
Teach corps skills, encourage the development of good work habits, conservation, practices and teamwork.
Crewleader, ACL and driver training.
Reporting Procedures:
Prepare corpsmember evaluations, incident reports and documentation of crewmember attendance, participation and work hours.
Conduct regular crew and individual recycling meetings to discuss corpsmember progress.

Assist with preparation project reports by way of uploading statistical information and work project photos.
Moving Specialist:
Management and coordination of relocation of offices from one location to another. This includes the disassembly of partitions and/or furniture and its reassembly.
Removal of discarded furniture and transportation to appropriate location of disposal.
Building Maintenance:
Building repairs not limited to electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
Driving/ Vehicle Inspection:
The Supervisor III position requires a Valid California Driver's License and a clean driver's record.
Ability to competently prevent and report vehicle issues through proper inspection and reporting.
Reporting Procedures:
Prepare oral and written reports of purchases, maintenance schedules, expenses, corpsmember evaluations, incident reports and documentation of corpsmember attendance, participation and work hours.
Counsel, motivate and discipline individual corpsmembers as appropriate.
Participate in staff and corpsmember meetings.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Some experience installing, maintaining or using systems for monitored application of water to grow landscapes.
Knowledge of principles of safety, use of hand and power tools
Knowledge of methods of group instruction and motivation.
Ability to properly discipline corpsmembers, keep records, prepare reports and communicate effectively with young adults under the supervision of a supervisor.
Three years or more of experience in working with young adults from a diverse social and ethnic background.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Some college or special training in vocational or trade skills
2-3 years of experience installing maintaining, or using systems for monitored application of water to grow landscapes.
Valid Landscape Irrigation Contractor License
Class C Driver's License with Endorsement or Class B Driver's License
Corps experience of one year or more at CCLB or similar organization.
Other Duties and Requirements:
Must be able to perform physical exercises, heavy lifting and manual labor.
DMV print-out, Class C Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement (effective July 2017) or Class B Driver's license (or able to obtain within 30 days of employment) and First Aid/CPR certification is required as a condition of employment (or within 30 days of employment).

Be completely clear on the job's Contract Scope of Work and see to it that any work done outside the Scope of Work is done with the Customer's representative authorizing additional payments for the additional work.
Assure that only required amounts of sand, gravel and other materials are used on the job. Plan and monitor the work so no materials are wasted.
Complete the Excavation Checklist form at the beginning of each job and file the form in the Foreman's Job Binder.
In coordination with Purchasing, return all excess materials, supplies and equipment from the job site as soon as they are no longer needed at the job site.
Each week, plan the next week's job activities in order to determine the number of crew members needed each day to complete the work and schedule deliveries of materials, supplies and equipment when needed.
Review this weekly look-ahead plan with the Field Superintendent.
Provide supervision and direction to all crew members at all times. If an employee is not performing their work in a satisfactory manner, direct the employee to cease work, leave the job site and report to the Field.
Superintendent for appropriate corrective action.
Cooperate and coordinate with other trades on the job site. Respect the work of other trades as if it was BPC's work.
Monitor employee job performance, productivity and the size of the work crew and increase or decrease the number of crew members to match job requirements. Immediately notify the Field Superintendent of the availability of un-needed crew members so they can be reassigned to other job sites.
Responsible to ensure that only qualified operators run the equipment.
Immediately returns rental equipment to the rental agency when it is no longer needed at the job site.
Assures that all rental equipment that needs to be returned with a full tank of fuel has a full tank of the correct fuel.
Manages the job so all work that requires a particular piece of rental equipment is done at the same time thereby assuring the shortest rental period possible.
This position is also responsible for accomplishing any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Field Superintendent.
Safety
Conduct weekly tail-gate safety meetings with all crew members and see to it that all related forms and attendance sheets are completed by the employees attending the safety meetings. Keep copies of the tailgate safety meeting records in the Foreman's Binder relating to the job.
Report all employee accidents immediately to the Office and the Field Superintendent and immediately complete all accident forms and submit them to the Field Superintendent.
See to it that any injured employee immediately seeks appropriate medical attention.
Sees to it that all employees wear all appropriate protective safety gear and follow all safety regulations and requirements while on the job site.
Keep all work and the job site clean and safe (equipment, bin area, lay down space, supplies and materials.

**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Maintain a schedule and ensure service expectations are met
+ Surface customer problems or concerns and report back to Operations Manager
+ Assist in resolving issues with customer service when needed
+ Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies
+ Communicate regularly with Operations Manager to ensure client needs and expectations are consistently met or exceeded
+ Deliver services as specified on client sites
+ Work to identify more efficient ways to perform work
+ Coordinate service execution with Operations Manager
+ Oversee day-to-day site operations and delegate work to crew team members
+ Provide Operations Manager feedback on crew member(s)
+ Work with Operations Manager, helping to develop and train crew members
+ Ensure equipment preventative maintenance is performed as needed and equipment is in good working order

**Education and Experience:**
+ BrightView Equipment certifications
+ Experience in a landscape-related field

**Physical Demands/Requirements:**
+ Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)
+ Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.)
+ Ability to bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the day
**Work Environment:**
+ Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic
+ Work near or about natural bodies of water
+ Ability to work in extreme conditions - temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, or Field Coordinator, the Supervisor I is responsible for the day-to-day direction and training of a crew of 2-14 young adults, aged 18-26 years, in a variety of work and educational activities.
Essential Responsibilities:
Supervision:
Under the direction of a Project Coordinator or Field Coordinator, the Supervisor I will supervise all or part of the crew in its daily routine, instruct corpsmembers in the necessary skills to complete work projects, monitor safety, and ensure efficient use of tools and materials.
Maintain discipline, positive crew morale, build teamwork and cooperation among corpsmembers to ensure that the rules and regulations of the CCLB are upheld.
Work Project Implementation:
Supervise crew or portion of a crew in the completion of work projects, which might include building refurbishment, tree planting, landscaping, litter abatement, graffiti removal and prevention, neighborhood improvement, historical preservation, park development and maintenance.
Responsible for safe work practices, proper use and maintenance of tools, vehicles and equipment. Responsible for quality control of work.
Reporting Procedures:
Prepare oral and written reports of work projects, corpsmember evaluations, incident reports and documentation of corpsmember attendance, participation and work hours under the instruction of a supervisor.
Counsel, motivate and discipline individual corpsmembers as appropriate under the supervision of a supervisor. Participate in staff and corpsmember meetings.
Driving/ Vehicle Inspection:
When necessary the Supervisor I will drive the crew to and from the work site and to and from the education site.
Make appropriate vehicle inspections
Adhere to driver policy
Reporting Procedures:
Prepare oral and written reports of purchases, maintenance schedules, expenses, corpsmember evaluations, incident reports and documentation of corpsmember attendance, participation and work hours.

Participate in staff and corpsmember meetings.
Assist with preparation project reports by way of uploading statistical information and work project photos.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge of principles of safety, use of hand and power tools
Knowledge of methods of group instruction and motivation.
Ability to properly discipline corpsmembers, keep records, prepare reports and communicate effectively with young adults under the supervision of a supervisor.
One year of experience in working with young adults from a diverse background OR training through the CCLB as a Corpsmember Specialist, Driver or Crew Leader or other leadership position.
Other Duties and Requirements:
Must be able to perform physical exercises, heavy lifting and manual labor.
DMV print-out, Class C Driver's License with Endorsement (effective July 2017) or Class B Driver's license (or able to obtain within 90 day of employment) and First Aid/CPR certification is required as a condition of employment (or within 30 days of employment).
