Note: This position would be for a term of eleven (11) months and would require full coverage, which is eight-four (84) hours every two (2) weeks. Hours may require working holidays and overnight shifts.
Position Summary
The primary purpose of the position is to operate the client's E9-1-1 Communications Center effectively and efficiently twenty-four (24) hours a day, three hundred and sixty-five (365) days a year, ensuring law enforcement response, emergency response and other miscellaneous needs. This consists of collecting, processing, prioritizing and disseminating information from and to multiple resources and agencies under stressful conditions.
The position is necessary to ensure continued, uninterrupted University operations during periods of adverse weather and/or emergency situations, including those that require the University to close. As such, the employee is required to report to work when scheduled during these types of events.
Position involves operating multiple computer systems simultaneously including CAD, DCIN, alarm systems, computerized multi-line/channel telephone and radio systems while performing other multi-task duties on a continuous basis. Position involves listening, documenting, and communicating verbally and in writing over the telephone, radio, and in person.
Position requires the interpretation of audible noises, signals, and tones from various computer operating systems and programs.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
High School diploma and sufficient experience to demonstrate ability to work under pressure.
Requires certification as a Division of Criminal Information (DCIN) operator or the ability to achieve certification within forty-five (45) days of employment.
A basic telecommunicator certification from a state criminal justice institution. Required prior to starting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Overseeing routing and scheduling of vehicles; dispatching vehicles and providing timely information to operators on the streets; taking all scheduling and operator complaints, reporting to Supervisor or resolving problems directly with the customer.
Providing solutions to drop-off and pick-up problems; assisting with no-shows or providing information to assist any and all emergency weather or vehicle breakdowns situations.
Promptly addressing any field problems such as accidents, breakdowns, delays, etc. and maintaining a log of such occurrences; enforcing GoTriangle's Work Policies, Rules and Procedures; FTA, ADA and DOT guidelines regarding transit operations.
Providing high-level customer service when fielding calls from customers needing to schedule trips or ask general questions.
When taking reservations, efficiently receives all ride request information from callers and repeats information received to confirm accuracy; records type of service/related information accurately on each ride request; and establishes rapport and professional confidence level with passengers as well as being sensitive to passenger's needs.
When scheduling, creates an accurate scheduling framework for dispatching; insert, change, and move trips to promote and maximize efficiency; promotes the safety of all operators and passengers; prioritizes and responds effectively to changing situations; reviews status of service delivery and responds to inquiries regarding individual ride status; and informs passengers of any changes to previously scheduled trips.
Performing other routine office duties or special projects as assigned such as reviewing and correcting payroll data entry errors and driving routes if the need arises.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma preferred but not required.
Valid North Carolina Driver's License at the appropriate classification.
Must have or be able to obtain a class B Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement.
Four years of related experience in customer service or dispatching.
Six years of driving experience, possession of a good driving record, and the ability to drive in all types of adverse weather.
Must be able to report to work during Adverse Weather conditions.
Maintain excellent attendance including during adverse weather.
Portray a positive and professional attitude.
Must be proficient in use of office equipment including a PC.
Demonstrate proficiency in all bus operator duties.
Must be knowledgeable of the fare box procedures, collect the proper fare, and issue proper fare media.
Must be able to meet the Department of Transportation physical requirements and maintain a DOT card.
An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the above stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while at operating facilities, during which the incumbent should observe all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and use all protective clothing and devices provided.
Schedule is flexible and employee must be available to work all shifts-AM, PM, Nights and Weekends as needed. Working special events or holidays may also be required. Must be willing to do whatever runs scheduled with a smile. Schedule is fluid; it changes at any given moment, so must be ready to change runs when necessary at a moment's notice. Will supervise on Saturday shifts as necessary. Employee must also demonstrate reliability. Comes to work every day, and on time. Maintains an excellent attendance record, and may be required to perform extra runs or work overtime assignments.

Maintaining Communication: Dispatchers will serve as a liaison between different departments and people. They correspond with maintenance to see which vehicles are available and when out-of-service ones will be returned to the fleet. They talk to drivers to ensure the trip is going as planned. SUMMARY:
Plans, organizes, leads, and controls the flow of service work through the service department in a professional, timely manner while ensuring quality repairs at a fair cost to the customer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Implements and maintains an effective dispatch system.
Schedules shop work to facilitate maximum productivity in accordance with dealership policy and the technician skill level required.
Provides technical support for technicians when necessary.
Checks progress of each repair order throughout the day.
Prioritizes and controls all comebacks to ensure proper and prompt attention.
Ensures proper repair order documentation, i.e., complaint, cause, and correction noted on every repair order with punch time for each operation.

Maintains high quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
Road test vehicles to quality check work performed.
Reviews job status frequently, logging status and reporting any change in time or cost estimates to the appropriate service advisor and/or customer.
Maintains timely and professional contact with service customers.
Maintains an organized and up-to-date repair log.
Prepares estimates when required.
Reviews hard copies of repair orders turned in by technicians to ensure that assigned work has been performed and the repair order has been completed properly.
Opens and closes repair orders.
Assists technicians in developing their skills and competencies.
Train members of the service department thoroughly in various vehicle maintenance and repair responsibilities.
Ensures that all department employees receive appropriate manufacturer training.
Monitors shop condition, including cleanliness, safety, and condition of shop equipment. Reports problems to the Service Manger or dealer.
Ensures that technicians follow warranty material disposition procedures.
Communicates job status with the next shift supervisor.
Schedules maintenance for service department vehicles and equipment.
Prepares a list of needed service department equipment, supplies and required repairs, and reviews with the service manager as needed.
Coordinates parts requirements with the parts department-contact special order parts customers immediately upon receipt of parts orders to schedule appointment.
Advises parts manager and service manager of repetitive shortage so that corrective action can be taken.
Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings.
Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.
Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
Assists with safety, housekeeping and OSHA Right-to-Know policies and procedures throughout the service department.
Maintains a clean work area.

We're looking for a Service Advisor / Parts Dispatcher who can keep our service department running smoothly while ensuring our customers feel supported every step of the way.
What You'll Do:
Greet and assist customers in person and over the phone, listening to their needs and explaining service recommendations.
Open and manage repair orders, update customers on progress, and ensure timely completion of work.
Order, receive, and manage parts inventory for scheduled repairs and maintenance.
Coordinate between technicians and parts suppliers to ensure parts are available when needed.
Schedule service appointments efficiently to maximize shop productivity.
Verify parts orders for accuracy and track shipments.
Maintain accurate service and parts records in our dealership management system.
Provide outstanding customer service and build long-term relationships.
What We're Looking For:
Previous service advising, dispatching, or automotive customer service experience preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills - both with customers and with the shop team.
Basic automotive knowledge and parts ordering experience a plus.
Proficiency with dealership management or shop software is helpful.
