This person will conduct educational needs assessments for clinical units along with developing and implementing educational plans to meet hospital-wide and unit-specific clinical and patient education goals. Additionally, delivers training and education for nurses and clinical staff and coordinating and leading patient education initiatives as determined by needs assessments. Works collaboratively with patient care staff to identify and address care standard issues. Provides leadership on Joint Commission and regulatory compliance relative to education. Performs other duties as assigned. SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS Must have Perioperative or Surgical Services experience IDEAL CANDIDATE Candidate will be responsible for designing, delivering, evaluating and continually improving learning initiatives for clinical and patient education. Will have Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred or acquired within 2 years of hire, Master's degree in Nursing highly desired. Must be able to obtain a Maryland RN license or compact state RN license. Excellent teaching and coaching skills. Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified times. Ability to work cooperatively with internal and external customers. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to set priorities and solve problems. Fosters a team environment. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Skill in conflict resolution. Skill in problem solving and analysis.
