How will I make a difference?
Family Intervention Specialists will work with both biological and adoptive families.
Many of the youth on your caseload will be foster children or former foster children in pre-adoptive or post adoptive homes who are experiencing stress in their placement.
Providing in-home counseling services for at-risk youth and families
Managing a small case load of four to six families to provide quality counseling
Meeting with youth and families three times weekly to address each family's needs
Providing after hours support to youth and families through on-call rotations
Collaborating with youth, family, teachers, and other community members working towards the success of the youth; that could be attending court or meeting with teachers; it depends on what your families' needs are in any given week
Providing a strengths-based approach utilizing counseling and social work skills
Attend three weekly meetings (individual, team, and clinical consultation) for professional development to help enhance clinical skills

Schedule is flexible and non-traditional; based around the availability of youth and families served.
Applicants must have a valid driver's license, a personal vehicle to use for work purposes and auto insurance.

Master's degree in social services field is required. Degrees that can be considered include: social work, drug and alcohol education or counseling, psychology, criminal justice, guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy. Experience working with at-risk youth and/or families in a volunteer, internship, or paid position; clinical experience is preferred
Willingness/desire to maintain an untraditional schedule

Provides crisis and risk assessment and intervention services in support of BestCare's mobile crisis response, including after hours;

Gathers information necessary to identify and assess risk factors for harm to self or others in the context of the client's current psycho-social state via interview with client and with consideration given to collateral information; makes recommendations for safety planning or higher level of care needs;

Provides direction to the Peer team member in completing comprehensive safety plans for each client;

ABOUT THE JOB:
Deschutes County is currently accepting applicants for a Pre-Civil Commitment Investigator/Monitor (Behavioral Health Specialist II) with the Forensic and Acute Services Program. The purpose of this program is to promote integration and collaboration within the behavioral health and court systems for individuals with serious and persistent mental illnesses. This position will provide clinical services and assessment with individuals who are hospitalized on emergency mental health holds to determine if they meet criteria for a civil commitment hearing. They will also supervise post-commitment treatment and services to adults and seniors who have been placed on civil commitment. The Civil Commitment Investigator/Monitor will be responsible for advocating for clients' needs and safety, ensuring the individual's civil rights are being maintained, coordinating with treatment providers and legal professionals, developing pertinent treatment plans, and monitoring client's progress. The position works closely as part of a multi-disciplinary, inter-agency team and participates in a treatment model that provides individualized assessment and services closely tied to clients' needs. This position is based out of the Deschutes County Wall Street Services (WSSB) building. Duties will primarily be carried out at the WSSB and St. Charles Medical Center.
This is a weekday position with typical hours being 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. from Monday-Friday, with discretion based on personal preference and program needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Complete clinical interviews with clients, perform mental health assessments, and evaluate allegedly mentally ill individuals.
* Provide crisis and therapeutic interventions to individuals who are allegedly mentally ill or are in crisis.
* Collect and evaluate records and medical charts; consult with medical and mental health professionals; and obtain collateral information from law enforcement, potential witnesses, family members, and friends.
* Formulate case conceptualization and clinical findings, prepare hearing reports, and make recommendations based upon criteria outlined in ORS 426.

MCCFL provides a whole-person care approach to adults and children to address both physical and mental health needs. MCCFL offers a variety of programs including a mobile crisis unit, intensive case management, ongoing counseling, community support, supported employment, jail diversion, hospital discharges, hearings and more.

Certified as a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) by the Mental Health and Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) or register as QMHA-R within 14 days of hire.

SUCCESS PROFILE

Provides crisis and risk assessment and intervention services in support of BestCare's mobile crisis response, including after hours;
Provides immediate mobile response to individuals experiencing mental health crises within the County. Calls may come from a variety of different sources including the hospital, jail, police, or other community partners;
Gathers information necessary to identify and assess risk factors for harm to self or others in the context of the client's current psycho-social state via interview with client and with consideration given to collateral information; makes recommendations for safety planning or higher level of care needs;
Assesses for personal safety in the environment and requests law enforcement support as appropriate;
Provides direction to the Peer team member in completing comprehensive safety plans for each client;
Provides assessment, recommendations, and case consultation to treatment providers and emergency department as appropriate;

You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those that are looking for a personalized work schedule.
As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but rather will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via our my Time mobile scheduling app) that work best with your schedule.
When you choose to pick up a shift, reliable and prompt attendance is necessary.
We also ask for your active engagement by picking up and working shifts once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours). Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you need to respond to our attempts to contact you to confirm your interest in working shifts at Target. If you do not respond to our attempts at contact, your employment may be terminated. Additionally, if you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, your employment with Target will be administratively terminated.
Your communication and ability to work when our business demands it most are critical to your success in this role.

+ Attempt every return and follow register prompts, partnering with immediate leaders as needed to help solve for the guest while following Target's policies and procedures.

ABOUT THE JOB:
As a part of the Behavioral Health Specialist II, Child, Family & Young Adult Team, you will have the opportunity to provide various outpatient services to a diverse group of youth and young adults ages 0-25 and their families seeking both mental health and addiction services. This includes individuals with a variety of diagnoses or experiences including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, attachment issues, ADHD, PTSD, Bipolar disorder, substance abuse and psychosis. In addition to being skilled at providing individual counseling with children, adolescents, and young adults, a successful candidate is one who is willing and able to provide integrated health interventions, family focused treatment services (including family therapy and parenting skills), case management services, lead therapy groups, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
This position works as part of an outpatient approach primarily from our Courtney Clinic in Bend. You will also work closely with other DCBH team members including psychiatrists, case managers, peer support specialists, and other group facilitators, Wraparound care coordinators, and community partners, schools, Child Welfare, and Juvenile Justice. Services will be provided face-to-face, via video, and over the phone with clients.
Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM, though an adjusted work schedule can be discussed. This position is primarily located in Bend, however, travel to locations in Deschutes County may be required to meet department needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direct and indirect behavioral health services to children, adolescents, young adults, and families.
