May act as principal interface between the operation team and the maintenance function.
Engage in training and coaching of junior operators.
Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply in order to meet customer requirements.
Initiate and participate in process development and cost improvement projects.
Assist in department budget planning and management of department expenses.
Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing individuals on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
Ensures compliance to manufacturing standards.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience related to production and manufacturing.
Typically requires 6 years of operations experience preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
Demonstrates operations and technical skills and understanding of Flex functional standards. Demonstrates a general knowledge of functional concepts and a rudimentary understanding of Flex policies and procedures. Has awareness of the functional impact upon work processes and other functions. Ability to operate telephones, data entry, office software including, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages and data base systems.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.

About the Role:
As a Line & Equipment Supervisor, you'll serve as the operational backbone of our production floor-part supervisor, part technician, and 100% responsible for keeping things running smoothly. You'll set up and change over complex packaging equipment, troubleshoot issues in real time, and guide production teams toward efficiency, quality, and speed. This role is the central hub where you can grow your manufacturing career. In addition to the standard Line Supervisor position, 2nd Shift has a shift premium, and with the strong possibility of overtime and continued overtime this role has a high earning potential immediately.
Responsibilities What You'll Be Doing:
80% of your time supervising lines, mentoring team members, and overseeing productivity
Performing line setups, equipment adjustments, and changeovers across coding, labeling, vision, and packing systems
Managing a team of 8-15 employees indirectly - setting the pace, direction, and tone for each shift
Collaborating with Maintenance and Engineering on technical issues
Leading new product launches, running atypical lines, and owning performance metrics
Auditing, inspecting, documenting, and improving every step of the line process
Qualifications What You Bring:
2-4 years of experience in a technical production setting (manufacturing, packaging, or equipment-heavy roles)
Prior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred
Working knowledge of mechanical systems, coding/labeling equipment, and production documentation
Ability to train and mentor team members while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and output
A strong sense of urgency, ownership, and hands-on leadership

Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage production lines on a daily basis.
Ensure equipment is functioning properly to produce high quality product in demanded quantities.
Communicate with Propagation Manager on a daily basis regarding equipment status and labor needs.
Report any issues or concerns.
Assign operators to production lines to meet labor requirements.
Work closely with crew leaders and operators working on production lines to ensure they are following all protocols and procedures.
Evaluate rates on a regular basis to ensure operators on production lines are meeting production standard requirements.
Recommend new processes to improve production techniques, equipment performance and quality of product to Propagation Manager.
Responsible for maintaining quality standards within propagation production processes.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of entire production facility.
Weekend, evening and holiday responsibility for entire nursery on a rotational basis shared among the other managers and assistant managers throughout the year.
If needed, completes all other projects assigned by Propagation Manager.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Associate degree in Production Management or equivalent experience.
Associate or Bachelor's degree in plant science-related field or equivalent experience.
Ability to identify and resolve process, systems and/or mechanical failure.
Computer skills are required for propagation-related tasks in NAV nursery database as well as proficiency in Excel and Word.
Must possess the ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move 20 pounds.
Bilingual English-Spanish skills are highly desirable.
Performance Requirements:
Must maintain a level of performance equivalent to company standards, that being a “Meets Expectations” in all areas of your performance evaluations (including but not limited to, Self and Management reviews).
