Prior to that I spent seven years with a privately-held software company -- serving as CFO for the final three years. I was recruited by the CEO to build the infrastructure of their accounting department and poise the business for an IPO. During that time, I helped maneuver them through various business cycles and transactions which included a debt to equity restructuring, raising capital, purchasing and integrating two businesses including a foreign subsidiary, and positioning the business for exit strategy which resulted in the successful sale to a large, publicly-traded business. Prior to that, I spent nine years with the public accounting firm BDO Seidman where I managed complex audit relationships with an array of public and private clients, primarily in the software and biotech industries.
