Richard Seals is the Chief Financial Officer for the Portland Opera. Prior to joining the Opera, Richard was the Chief Financial Officer for city of West Linn and the Finance Director for the city of Lake Oswego. He earned undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Information Systems Management and a Masters in Business Administration, all from California State University East Bay. After completing his graduate program in 1986, Mr. Seals accepted employment with the then big-eight international accounting firm, PriceWaterhouse. He obtained his California CPA designation in 1989 and his Oregon CPA designation in 1990. Richard maintains five professional licenses: Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Certified Financial Manager, Certified Fraud Examiner and Chartered Global Management Accountant. He is an active member of the following professional organizations: AICPA, OSCPA, IMA, ACFE and NAO.

In 2015, the Portland Business Journal named Richard Seals as an honoree for the CFO of the Year Award in the nonprofit category.
