PMA is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager, Aviation Director, with strong project management capabilities to support the successful delivery of large-scale capital programs, beginning with a high-profile aviation hangar facility at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). This position serves as both the on-site construction lead and Owner's Representative, acting as the client's eyes and ears to ensure that all work is executed in alignment with scope, schedule, quality, and safety standards. The role requires hands‑on field oversight while also contributing to higher-level planning, risk management, and coordination with stakeholders and project leadership. The Senior Construction Project Manager, Aviation Director, may also assume direct project management responsibilities as needed throughout the project lifecycle, from design through commissioning and closeout.
Organizational Responsibilities
Oversee large-scale and/or multi-project programs through feasibility, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
Serve as the Owner's Representative on-site, managing stakeholder coordination and representing PMA in strategic discussions.
Act as Project Manager for select workstreams, overseeing planning, budgeting, scheduling, and performance reporting.
Conduct regular site inspections and manage field activities to ensure compliance with specifications, safety regulations, and contract requirements.
Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance; enforce QA/QC protocols and lead resolution of design or construction issues.
Lead constructability reviews, impact assessments, and risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with engineering and planning teams.
Coordinate site logistics, utility shutdowns, commissioning (Cx), and Operational Readiness, Activation, and Transfer (ORAT) activities.
Respond to RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change management processes to keep projects aligned and on track.
Manage documentation across systems, maintain safety logs, and generate daily progress reports.
Provide safety oversight, including review and verification of the general contractor's safety plan and implementation.
Support procurement, labor compliance, and DBE/SBE program tracking.

Position Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field required.
10+ years of progressively responsible construction and project management experience, with a minimum of 7 years in aviation, including airside, hangar, terminal, and capital infrastructure projects.
Experience acting as an Owner's Representative and/or Project Manager on large, complex projects.
Proven track record overseeing contractors, managing trades, and maintaining schedule and specification compliance.
Experience with airside airport operations and FAA regulatory environments required; hangar construction experience preferred.
Progressive Design‑Build (PDB) delivery experience is preferred.
OSHA 30‑hour certification preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, construction management software, and document control systems; familiarity with BIM is a plus.
Strong skills in field issue resolution, reporting, scheduling, cost control, and team coordination.
PMP certification or Master's degree preferred; equivalent combinations of education, experience, and training will be considered.

In this role, you will:
Participate as a member of a project team comprised of Project Managers, Buyers, Engineers & others to successfully manage the installation of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), as well as Distribution & Fulfillment (D&F) within customer sites.
Manage on-site installation of small to highly complex MHE and D&F projects.
Communicate with project teams daily, which include but not limited to PM, Engineers, Procurement, Sub-Contractors, General Contractors, Vendors and Suppliers.
Complete project look ahead with Sub-Contractors to forecast project work and milestones.
Oversee/Manage receipt of inventory and report issues through project team for direction.
Document, compile and prepare a daily site report that is used as a risk management tool.
Utilize Site Docs to perform workplace safety audits, AM/PM safety walks, toolbox talks, contractor orientation, near-miss or workplace incident reports, upkeep of your DCS provided safety training certifications annually or as required.
Utilize Procore for all project related documents, reporting, RFI's and punch-listing.
Travel up to 90% during project installation and start-ups.

Qualifications
Required Experience:
* 15 years of full-time, paid professional experience in construction and/or project and construction management for commercial or public/educational facility construction.
* At least 5 years of experience managing complex projects valued at over $20 million.
Preferred Experience:
* Experience with Design-Build projects.
* Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM).
* Knowledge of LEED-certified projects and Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS).
* Familiarity with Division of the State Architect (DSA) design/construction processes.
* Understanding of OSHA Safety Regulations (OSHA 30 minimum certification required).
Education Requirements:
Candidates must meet one of the following education requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
* Bachelor's degree in any field, with the ability to complete a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential within one year of employment.
* More than 20 years of experience in construction or project management (if candidate does not hold a degree), with a requirement to complete a CCM credential within one year.
* Possession of a valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Licenses & Certifications:
* Registered Architect (California Architectural Board) or Licensed Professional Engineer (State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors).

Additional Information
The salary range for this full-time role is $145k-$180k per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. This Senior Facilities Project Manager will be a part the Space Revitalization Program which bridges the gap between patient/visitor/staff experience, aesthetics, functionality, and operational necessity. Facilities Planning, Design and Construction (FPDC) is responsible for executing over 400 active projects ranging from $1,000 to multi-billion-dollar builds, implementing a $10 billion capital expansion program spanning clinical, research, hospitality, and infrastructure facilities.
