Promotion to Senior Student Consultant is possible after 1 year of employment.
Responsibilities:
Consultants give their faculty partners a student perspective in real-time as they teach. Student consultants set goals for the partnership with their faculty partners; observe their faculty partners' classes once per week during which they take detailed observation notes; meet weekly with their faculty partners one on one; meet weekly with their fellow student consultants and the TLI Co-Directors; and provide faculty partners with a final “wrap-up” letter reflecting on the partnership.

Responsibilities:
Understand and abide by all Company safety rules, regulations, and policies. Ensure that safe and sanitary working conditions are maintained in the facility in accordance with Company standards, as well as, state & federal laws and regulations. Know and understand your OSHA rights. Conduct safety training topics as required or needed. Responsible for attending all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions. As required, promptly investigate accidents and near misses, completing appropriate reports and taking action to eliminate root causes.
The position will manage and coordinate project selection/implementation, training, mentoring leaders/teams, communication, results accountability and cross-plant benchmarking. Drive waste elimination and increase plant throughput.
Identify & implement lean manufacturing improvement opportunities within plant asset areas.
Coordinate with facility personnel to plan and conduct lean events that support business objectives.
Train and develop Lean Leaders and other personnel in the ability to conduct effective Lean Events for the various lean tools (e.g. 5S, Baseline, TPM, Kanban, etc.)
Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver continuous improvements using lean manufacturing rigor/thought process and ensure sustainability.
Mentor project leaders and develop/strengthen the lean culture within the plant organization.
Drive waste elimination involvement/culture within total workforce.
Develop business plan lean objectives/goals with support from leadership team.
Develop and select lean projects and project leaders..
Maintain training records and database, includes scanning and manual entries of records and sign in sheets.
Assist with developing and conduct Safety New Hire Orientation for Salaried and Hourly Employees.
Ensure 100% training of all employees, includes creating exceptions lists and performing training with these individuals.
Qualifications:
This individual must be action oriented, capable of developing a strategic plan but willing to roll up their sleeves and work out in the plant to deliver the plan. It requires a well rounded individual who understands manufacturing, production planning, engineering, and finance. A working knowledge of Lean manufacturing is also required. The candidate must possess excellent communication, persuasion, decision, analytical, and management skills.
