JOB TITLE Student Worker - IT SUMMARY The Information Technology (IT) Student Worker is responsible for providing Helpdesk and Desktop Support services at Florida Polytechnic University. The position will assist with setting up new users (desktop and laptops), installing and troubleshooting Windows operating systems, and mac OS. The position will also provide assistance with technical analysis and feasibility studies of hardware and off-the-shelf applications. The student worker - IT may be asked to safely operate a golf cart throughout campus, work in cramped or dusty environments, and climb on ladders. JOB DESCRIPTION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: * Provides first-level support to staff on all computer-related software and hardware issues by triaging email and phone calls for service requests. * Supports the functionality of university computers and peripherals through software installation and troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware. * Perform computer imaging, staging and installation. * Assist in the maintenance of IT standards and documentation. * Under the guidance of IT staff, inventories technology equipment and software. * Set up video conferencing sessions and other items. * Tracks and completes preventative maintenance and tests. * Provides testing and preventative maintenance services, tracks and documents the outcomes. * Contributes to team effort by completing other assignments and serving on project teams as assigned.
