How you will make an impact
Organize and review medicalrecords for completion of documentation and/or deficiencies on resident's discharge
Code admission/discharge diagnoses as required by Medicare program and/or other regulatory agencies, using the ICD-10 coding classification system for proper and accurate reimbursement
Responsible for performing monthly audits of discharge records
Participate in the facility's overall Nurse Management, QA/QI, Operations, and Resident Care Management teams
Evaluate clinical information from a variety of medicalrecords and assigns appropriate ICD 10 CM codes and/or CPT codes to patient records to ensure records and billing
Audit incomplete records and prepares reports on delinquencies, and ensures all medicalrecords are released according to HIPAA guidelines
Manage specific components of the QA/QI program in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines from other regulatory agencies that govern long-term care facilities. Assists in developing follow-up procedures for monitoring identified problem areas; ensure documentation and reporting through the mechanisms of the QA/QI Committee
Backup to MDS Coordinator transmissions to State

Digitize documents and create accurate electronic records.
Retrieve and transmit patient records to authorized parties while maintaining security and documentation standards.
Answer inbound and outbound calls and assist with patient walk -ins as needed.
Support administrative tasks such as handling faxes, opening mail, and performing data entry.
Monitor workflow, communicate site challenges to management, and meet productivity and accuracy metrics.
Participate in process improvements and share feedback to enhance operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with phones, fax machines, printers, and general office equipment.
Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
