    The Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and future project managers with hotel renovations, brand conversions, PIPs (property improvement plans), new constructions, as well as assisting with existing portfolio of hotels as it relates to facility maintenance and improvements. Position Responsibilities and Qualifications: Education & Experience: · Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction science or design is highly preferred. · Minimum of 5-years hotel project management and/or construction related fields. · Strong knowledge of construction accounting and computer skills to include Excel and Project Scheduling software (MS Projects or similar). · Hotel Brand experience helpful · Full Time - Preferably based in Tucson or Phoenix, due to most of the work being done in Tucson. Physical Demands: · Long hours are sometimes required, including nights and weekends. · Light work-Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. · Ability to spend some time moving about the hotel overseeing the various projects. · Valid driver's license from appropriate state and MVR in good standing. Required Competencies · Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly, both oral and written. · Must be able to analyze bids accurately and provide comparative analysis. · Must have the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at one time. · Must be attentive, engaging and helpful with all project teammates. · Must have knowledge of construction project accounting (pay application processes, change orders, etc.) and basic arithmetic function. Property Improvement Plans · Work with GC and Designer to develop a Budget based on PIP · Create and maintain budget - update and provide to CEO/COO bi-weekly. · Weekly calls with GC and Designer to review status of the Project. · Submit draw requests based on completion of project. · Ensure Lien Releases are secured for all work completed. · Liaison between the Brand/Hotel/GC/Designer. · Punchlist and completion of final work.. Capital Projects · Review Capital Submissions from the hotels and approve pricing and vendor and submit to COO/CEO for approval. · Work with GMs/Chief Engineers to maintain 3-5-year capital plan for each hotel. · Ensure proper completion of Capital Projects and obtain Lien releases. Oversee Hotel Engineers · Ensure each hotel follows a Monthly Preventive Maintenance (PM) plan. · Review workmanship of PMs with Chief Engineers. · Property visits to review Mechanical Equipment PM and condition. · Provide property visit checklist and narrative after visits. Maintenance Licenses and Permits · Maintain oversight of all operating licenses and permits for hotels. The Project Manager will be accountable to ensure that Project governance is followed, all safety practices and procedures are followed and supported. The Project Manager will deal directly with the Project Team, the Client's representatives as well as DMC's regional and corporate teams. The incumbent will ensure that the objectives and scope of the Project are met to DMC;'s standards of Client expectations. They shall be responsible for the overall safety culture, compliance and maturity, project quality and quality control program oversight, achieving Project margins and delivery of the schedule in a timely manner. Key Accountabilities: * Successfully manage the assigned project so that all project goals are met in accordance with established budgets and schedules as expected by DMC and the client. * Identify critical path issues and ensure plans are in place to meet key dates and deliverables. * Protect DMC's reputation and interests, by ensuring all risks ae proactively managed and resolved. * Pursue and drive a culture of zero harm at the project site with an uncompromising commitment to health, safety and the environment. * Ensure the project deliverables are conducted safely and in compliance with all environmental regulations. * Drive a quality culture and ensure that the works are completed in line within the established quality framework. * Support the Project Team to ensure they have the resources to meet their milestones and overcome any obstacles impacting their success. * Responsible for managing staff including monitoring performance, coaching and providing performance feedback, conducting performance appraisals, and initiating disciplinary action if required (including maintaining supporting notes/documentation as required). * Manage the interfaces between the Owner's Team and DMC Project Team and ensure good working relationships are maintained. * Ensure maximum productivity rates through the utilization of appropriate mining methods, procedures and equipment. * Recommend courses of action designed to eliminate potential production problems and to improve operational efficiency and control production costs. * Ensure that good levels of procurement-related administration of the Project are maintained. * Ensure that Project Controls standards are maintained, including project scope changes, reporting updates on project activities, cost performance, schedule compliance, invoicing, accruals etc. * Oversee the execution of the contract technically and commercially. * Prepare and present regular update reports and attend meetings with clients, corporate management and site personnel as required. * Ensure all aspects of DMC's Health & Safety Management system are maintained. * Other related duties as may be assigned. Qualifications: * Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering or a relevant discipline. * Project Management experience with construction and operational experience. * 10+ years of experience working in the mining or mine contracting industry, with a preference for underground mining. * Minimum of 5+ years' experience in a senior-level project management role with a history of successful completion. * PMP certification or working toward certification is an asset. * Experience working in western USA is an asset. * Proven leadership and relationship management skills and experience. * Ability to understand and motivate teams across functions, disciplines and offices to work collaboratively and efficiently. * Strong oral and written communication skills and negotiation skills. * Proficiency in English as required for the role. * Intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. * This role requires being comfortable working at heights, underground and in confined spaces. Ensures that assigned staff are providing services that are evidence-based and clinically appropriate for the population being served. Conducts staff meetings and in-service training to promote, communicate and initiate established policies and procedures and to monitor program activities and their effectiveness.
