Attempt to Sell Pyramid in 1998
In April 2000 Pyramid announced plans for a $900 million expansion that would now triple the size of Carousel Center and include hotels, skating rinks, and an aquarium.
In January 2002 Pyramid was successful in obtaining additional tax breaks from both the county and city.
In 2013, a joint team of French and Egyptian archaeologists discovered a remarkable find in a cave at the ancient Red Sea port of Wadi el-Jarf—hundreds of inscribed papyrus fragments that were the oldest ever unearthed in Egypt.
