Typically it is good for a year. 3. Educational Interpreter: RID used to test for this as a separate certification (EIPA) but stopped doing so in 2016. This certification can still be gotten through other agencies that test interpreters. The Unconventional is seeking a highly skilled Chinese-Mandarin Linguist/Translator to support a short-term training development support project supporting the American College of Surgeons (ACS). The project is expected to last no more than 30-days and will include translation and voice-over work in the development of multi-media virtual training material.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
Will provide linguistic subject matter expertise.
Translate medical texts and documents from English into Chinese-Mandarin
Provide voice-over recordings of provided material into Chinese-Mandarin.
Perform other such duties as customarily assigned to this type of work.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Must possess professional proficiency (ILR 4) or higher in the Chinese-Mandarin language across all four modalities (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).
Fluently speak, read, and write English.
Know specialized vocabulary (and terminology) in both English and Chinese-Mandarin related to medical terminology
Translate in a manner that is factually and conceptually accurate without changes, omissions, or additions.
Preserve the tone and register of source language materials.
Must possess your own equipment to support the work to include a reliable internet connection.

Bachelor's degree or higher within the medical field.
Previous experience supporting similar work.
