Description
Our ABA department is growing, and we would love to have you join us! We are a clinic-based pediatric facility that provides high-quality ABA therapy to clients with challenging behavior. Therapists in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) aim to reduce challenging behaviors and teach replacement skills to clients with autism spectrum disorders under the direct supervision of BCBAs. Board Certified Behavior Analysis (BCBAs) are masters-level clinicians that complete initial assessments, design treatment protocols, and provide ongoing training to behavior technicians throughout a client's therapy journey.
Our Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) provide direct therapy to children using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to improve the lives of children and their families. A day in the life of an RBT might look like:
Consistent, block scheduling that allows you to see 2-3 clients per day with no more than 2.5 hours with each client
1 hour lunch and 1 hour of “documentation” time daily for full-time staff
Implement therapy with a wide range of clients, typically aged 3-16 in 1:1, group, home, or community settings
Teach your clients important skills including ready-to-learn, play, functional living, communication and social skills
Follow detailed behavior intervention plans written by board-certified behavior analysts (BCBAs) to help reduce challenging behavior and increase replacement skills
Collect data on the programs and behavior plans implemented with your clients in order to assist with evidence-based decision-making
Create materials for clients as needed
Communicate with families before and after therapy sessions
Upon hiring, an RBT certification is not necessary. Training via online video modules, role-playing with other RBTs, and hands-on implementation with the assistance of our BCBAs is provided at the onset of the position, and new employees are compensated for their training time . Easterseals also covers the certification exam cost (one-time) and annual renewal costs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Demonstrated computer skills including word processing, data processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
Ability to supervise children safely and independently.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary is based upon Schedules A&B, of the collective negotiated Agreement.
EVALUATION:
Each employee in contractual continuing service shall be evaluated at least once every two (2) years. Each employee not in continuing contractual service shall be evaluated once every year.
Physical Demands
Handle work which deals mostly with people, objects, equipment in a general setting; depth perception and field of vision are important. Employee regularly is required to bend, stoop, twist, turn, reach, lift (up to 50 pounds), carry, pull, push, climb, and kneel; walking and standing approximately 50-75% of each shift. Employee must recognize differences in sound, such as voices/noises that are loud and playful instead of angry and combative; ability to differentiate tones and volumes in conversation.
Mental Demands
The Teacher must ensure that children are supervised at all times, and that children are involved in safe and appropriate activities. There may be a number of situations happening at once, and the Teacher must be prepared to handle accidents and emergencies at any time.

Hourly Rate: $15.00 Student employees are hired on an as-needed basis, and the number of positions available fluctuates throughout the academic year. All student employment applications will remain on file until April 2026. Career & Technical Education departments include Agricultural Sciences, Applied Sciences and Technologies, and Business, Computer Sciences and Technologies.
