    Job DescriptionSalary: $16.25 - $18.75 On-Call Substitute Position (part-time) The Schoolhouse Learning Center in South Burlington seeks to add staff to our substitute list for preschool-8th grade students in our nature- and play-based program. Candidates should enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors in all weather, exploring, and teaching children about the natural world, as well as supporting a social-justice focused curriculum. This is a wonderful position for a college student, retiree, or anyone exploring an interest in teaching/education. Learn from a fantastic team of experienced teachers, in a progressive school with a long track record of success. As a substitute you will receive phone calls either the morning of the opening or in advance for staff planned absences, and if the shift works for you, that's great, and if it doesn't, we will contact you with the next opening. Job Qualifications: Some experience working with young children is preferred; we will train the right candidate. High School diploma required. Willingness to complete a background check including fingerprints necessary. Mandated Reporter Training (can do on the job).
