SUMMARYThe Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Police Trainee is responsible for completing the CMPD Academy and passing the Basic Law Enforcement Training to become certified sworn law enforcement providing protection, policing, patrolling and investigation. Police Trainees participate in a structured training and certification program and perform entry-level law enforcement work under close supervision.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in a structured law enforcement training academy that incorporates an adult learning environment and follows a paramilitary model to gain knowledge of entry-level law enforcement responsibilities.
Participates in a field training program with the assistance of a field training officer, applying techniques learned in the training academy.
Meet all training requirements established by the North Carolina Criminal Justice and Training Standards Commission as well as traditional requirements established by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

This posting is for non-certified individuals interested in going through BLET as a Town of Matthews employee (Police Officer Trainee). Applicants must successfully pass a series of tests that includes a PT exam and a written exam. Testing will be held in February/March 2026 for a July 2026 BLET Academy.
Employees who complete BLET and pass NC State BLET Certification Test will be sworn in as a Sworn Police Officer with the Town of Matthews Police Department. At that time, they will receive a 5% increase in the base salary, taking them to the starting pay of a Sworn Police Officer.

MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR POLICE OFFICER EMPLOYMENT WITH THE TOWN OF MATTHEWS
With our ultimate goal of keeping our city safe, the Matthews Police Department is dedicated to attracting, recruiting, training, and developing employees who meet and maintain our strong hiring standards. As such, applicants who have a history of unethical or immoral behavior will not be hired.
Applicants for the position of Police Officer must meet minimum standards set forth by the Department of Justice - Minimum Standards for Criminal Justice Employment. Background will be looked at very closely and all candidates offered employment will be subjected to an intensive background evaluation.
Minimum criteria for employment include, but are not limited to

Must be a citizen of the United States.
Must be at least 21 years of age.

EXPERIENCES / Responsible for planning and executing event and experiential marketing programs.
We are looking for a motivated, hardworking trainee to join our campaigns team in Charlotte, NC. OVERVIEW: With support moving towards minimal supervision, provide color matching and small batch blending support on-site at the customer location.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Produce and quality control inks to ensure inks meet or exceed the customer's specifications.
Maintain detailed production and QC records.
With support, identifies rework opportunities based on review of batch tickets.
Maintain housekeeping and safe operations
