The Service Department is responsible for servicing and installing various natural gas appliances (residential and commercial), setting and maintaining residential and light commercial meters, restoring gas service to customers, and responding to after-hours and emergency calls. What You Will Do: Assist in the installation of natural gas appliances, meters, and facilities in an efficient and safe manner while achieving excellent customer service. Use Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) to distribute and route work orders to computers mounted in company vehicles. Light gas pilots on natural gas residential and/or commercial appliances. Complete minor appliance repairs. Run customer fuel lines. Complete appropriate paperwork in writing and on the computer. Safely drive a company vehicle. Operator Qualifications involve written guidelines and requirements natural gas employees must follow to ensure the safe and responsible operation of natural gas pipelines. Required, annual Operator Qualification testing involves both written and hands-on components to ensure those who perform covered, safety-sensitive tasks on the natural gas system are trained, knowledgeable, and qualified. Who You Are: Trainee-Service (0 - 6 months experience) Completed high school or equivalent (i.e. GED) Possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving history. Ability to understand and follow safety and environmental policies, procedures, and protocols. Must have knowledge and skills with common hand and power tools. Effective communication skills for positive customer interactions are critical. Ability to work in enclosed areas such as crawl spaces, basements, and attics.
