Job Summary

THE POSITION'S ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS
The Director of HumanResources & People Engagement serves as the head of CIA's HR function, leading day-to-day and strategic HR operations, and partnering with senior leadership to support employees across Cleveland Institute of Art. Education and Experience:

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor degree in HumanResources, Business Administration or related field

Pay range for this opportunity is $105,400.00 - $136,400.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

MDW Associates is seeking a Director of Rapid Acquisition & Mission Innovation to support and expand our work across NASA and Space programs. This senior role is designed for a leader who operates at the intersection of mission execution, rapid acquisition, and innovation, helping space programs move efficiently from concept to capability.
The Director will support high-visibility space initiatives-such as advanced power systems, lunar and cislunar infrastructure, and emerging mission technologies-by aligning acquisition strategy, financial execution, and program governance with mission timelines and national priorities.
This role is at Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
This role is 100% at client site.
The Director of Rapid Acquisition & Mission Innovation may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties:
Support NASA mission portfolios by accelerating the transition of advanced technologies into executable programs and fielded capabilities.
Collaborate with NASA centers, mission directorates, and cross-functional tiger teams to enable rapid progress on complex space initiatives (e.g., lunar surface systems, power and energy solutions, next-generation exploration capabilities).
Serve as a trusted advisor to government stakeholders on mission execution strategies, innovation pathways, and program acceleration.
Apply rapid acquisition and agile program management principles to space and science missions operating under compressed timelines or novel acquisition constructs.
Assist in structuring programs, task orders, and funding strategies that support iterative development, testing, and deployment.
Help bridge the gap between research, demonstration, and sustained mission operations.
Lead or support financial planning, budget formulation, execution tracking, and multi-year phasing for NASA programs and projects.
Analyze program performance, funding alignment, and execution risks; provide clear, actionable insights to government and MDW leadership.
Prepare executive-level briefings, dashboards, and decision materials supporting mission reviews and portfolio oversight.
Foster collaboration across NASA centers, industry partners, national labs, and academia to support mission-driven innovation.
Contribute to MDW's growth in the civil space domain by shaping new work, mentoring teams, and helping define best practices for rapid mission enablement.
Support thought leadership initiatives related to space acquisition, mission innovation, and emerging technology transition.
Required Experience/Skills:
Experience working with Prime contractors and understanding inter-workings of all resource-related activities.
Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work from multiple customers meeting or exceeding deadlines.
Requires a high proficiency in MS Office applications with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint and a comprehensive knowledge of automated financial systems and budgetary report generation; experience with SAP, and Business Objects are preferred.
Must have excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, work independently, be able to maintain confidentiality of data, and communicate effectively in writing, person to person, and in meetings.
Requires the ability to travel if needed.
Education Requirements:
Candidates for this position prefer to possess a BA/BS degree.
