Job Description This is a Computer Field Technician Position doing hardware repairs and installations on laptop and desktop units. To be successful in this position, you must have prior experience with laptop and desktop hardware. Job Details: This is a 1099/per call position Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed. Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered. Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you. You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day. You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day. You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day. The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you. You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial) You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided. Prime Responsibilities Perform routine calibrations of process control instrumentation Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation to a variety of flow meters, transmitters, controllers and associated equipment to meet customers' requirements Visually inspects, tests, and recommends changes to ensure required installation meets manufacturer's standards for operation Observes processes, apply, and develop tests and procedures to detect proper or malfunctioning operation of equipment Determine possible system faults prior to departing for on-site service calls, in order to determine test equipment and spare parts that may be required Identify opportunities for upgrades at the customer site Provide accurate, professional, and timely documentation of service calls Communicate effectively with customers, principals, co-workers, and management providing information regarding the nature of problems, course of action to be taken and schedule for completion of work Qualifications Associates degree in a technical field, or equivalent training and experience 5+ year's previous experience installing, maintaining, and repairing instrumentation Technical aptitude Problem solving Ability to work in a team environment Industrial safety training Strong communication and documentation skills Able to work overtime as needed Travel Travel is up to 75% of the time and primarily local during the business day, although occasional travel is expected, which may require overnight stays and weekends. Ability to transport self to various facility sites as required.
