The Spanish Analytic Linguist will provide operational support to support linguist and translator duties as assigned by the PMO. The ideal candidate will be a computer savvy, "self-starter", capable of hitting the ground running and flexible to support assignments on very short notice. **Essential Job Duties** + Monitor live communication and listen to or read foreign language communications lawfully intercepted, and perform immediate verbal summaries, then subsequent written or typed summaries into the English language. + Transcribe audio/video and written communications to and from source language to English as required. + Interpret consecutively or simultaneously to and from source language to English as required. + Validate by reviewing other's original translation, transcription, or the quality control review of the specified original work in order to attest to the accuracy of the final work. + Summarize by providing concise and accurate synopsis of oral or written communications. + Provide reliable, accurate gist's and summaries of intercepted communication to law enforcement officers. + Attend federal and state legal briefings, known as Title III minimization, prior to the beginning of any new investigation. + Assist law enforcement officers in the preparation of evidence and investigation summaries for the possibility of federal or state trials. + Serve as a "fact" witness in federal or state court when subpoenaed to testify. + Maintain regular communication with the program manager and keeping them informed of available hours/days/shifts for upcoming assignments. + Perform other duties as assigned by the customer or the Program Manager. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements** + Must be 18 years old or older. + Hold a high school diploma or equivalent. + Be a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Residents who are in the U.S. legally and have legal work status. **The Work** The Translator will provide Translation services for individuals with a language barrier. BASIC FUNCTIONS: To provide quality BLS Care and transportation to those requiring the services of the company. To perform as a trained and caring professional representing the company. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Assigned Base Supervisor RESPONSIBILITY: The EMT is directly responsible to the shift supervisor. The primary functional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Read and understand the company's Policy and Procedure Manual. Reporting on time and in uniform for their assigned shift in good mental and physical health. Maintain appropriate certifications (MA and/or RI) in order to function as an EMT legally. Ensure that the assigned vehicle is stocked, serviced, and cleaned as specified in the daily checklist. **The Work:** TheTranslatorwill provide Translation services forindividuals with a language barrier.Translationwill consist of but not limited to Education, legal, Medical, Environmental, and Social Services, etc. This position performs all duties and responsibilitiesin accordance withthe Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse. **Responsibilities** **Key Responsibilities:** + Accurately translated situations like lectures, conversations, meetings, medical, and or legal. + Translators shall remain Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant when interpreting or translating in a healthcare setting. + Abide by the client's policies. + Abide by the American Translators Association Code of Ethics. + Render a complete and accurate translation without altering, omitting, or adding anything to what is stated or written, and without explanation. + Sensitive to the culture of the original languages and the target languages during the translation process. + Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** **Qualifications - Here's What You Need:** + High School diploma or equivalent in years of experience. + Minimum of 2 years of related experience. + Certified Translation Professional. + Translation Certifications. + Certifications from a previous agency or + Accreditation from a translation program. + Must be fluent in English. + Must be fluent in Japanese. + Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment. **Minimum Skills Required:** + The ability to facilitate translation with discretion and impartiality. + Proficiency in written communication. + A wide breadth of knowledge in a variety of topics + Cultural awareness when conducting translations within different regions. + Must possess problem-solving skills. + Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc. + Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time. + Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Bachelors degree in a related field. + For Medical Translation services: must have medical interpreter certificate from either the Certification Commission of Healthcare Interpreters or the National Certification for Medical Interpreters. + 2 years of Legal translation experience. + 2 years of Medical translation experience. + American Translators Association Certification. + Court certified translator certificate. **Reports to: Deputy Program Manager** **Working Conditions:** + Professional remote environment. + Must be able to be on-call.
