Candidate Location Requirement: SC residency not required; candidate must live within a 6-hour driving radius of Columbia, SC due to potential onsite travel
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and manage hydrogeological projects related to land application and groundwater monitoring sites
• Perform hydrogeological reviews and evaluations for NPDES permits and groundwater impact assessments
• Review proposed projects for potential groundwater impacts and evaluate closure plans for terminated permits
• Utilize SCDES systems such as ePermitting to manage project workflows, documentation, and approvals
• Prepare written technical review comments and recommendations for Permit Engineers
• Initiate and review complex groundwater monitoring plans and specifications for industrial and domestic wastewater facilities
• Coordinate with enforcement, permitting, and intra-agency teams as required
• Maintain groundwater data collection, tracking systems, and project status records
• Provide technical information and guidance to the public, industrial, and agricultural representatives
• Prepare project status reports, presentations, and documentation for upper management
• Ensure assigned projects meet regulatory requirements, schedules, and organizational objectives
Required Skills
• Master's degree in Hydrology, Geology, or Geological Engineering with at least 1 year of related experience
OR
• Bachelor's degree in Hydrology, Geology, or Geological Engineering with at least 2 years of related experience
• Completion of ePermitting Power User training
• Strong expertise with ePermitting or an equivalent electronic government permitting application
• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager
Preferred Skills
• 5+ years of experience performing hydrogeological reviews and evaluations for land application and groundwater monitoring sites
• 5+ years of experience managing databases and using geospatial software
• 5+ years of experience with groundwater hydrogeology, geochemistry, contaminant transport, and hydrogeologic investigation techniques
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and delivering results aligned with organizational goals
• Experience with federal and state groundwater and wastewater permitting and compliance requirements

Overview:
Client is seeking an Project Manager - Intermediate through the coordination and completion of projects. Coordinates and completes hydrogeological projects, including reviews and evaluations for land application and groundwater monitoring sites sites for permits. Reviews new projects for potential to impact groundwater and reviews closure plans for permits which are being terminated
Responsibilities:
Using available information technology applications and tools, such as ePermitting, coordinate and complete complex hydrogeological project evaluations and project feasibility reviews of historical and background monitoring data for existing and proposed land application sites.
Using available information technology applications and tools, such as ePermitting, provide written review comments and recommendations as requested by the Permit Engineers. Review and initiate complex groundwater monitoring project plans and specifications for industrial and domestic wastewater facilities using policy and guidance. Request intra-agency input. Coordinate tasks in conjunction with enforcement and permitting personnel as appropriate.
Maintain groundwater data collection and storage systems. Maintain an accurate status of assigned projects in the groundwater tracking system and ePermitting.
Provide information to the public, industrial representatives, agricultural
representatives and coordinate with appropriate personnel..
Qualification:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient with ePermitting or an equivalent electronic government permitting application.
An extensive working knowledge of groundwater hydrogeology geochemistry, contaminant transport and hydrogeologic investigation techniques.
A general understanding of all environmental programs as they relate to hydrogeology.
Ability to write and communicate effectively.
An understanding and working knowledge of how to manage databases and use geospatial software.
Knowledge of mission, programs, and objectives.
