Mr. Jim Hooper joined SES Government Solutions (SES GS) in January 2010. He currently serves as the Chief Commercial Officer and a Corporate Vice President at SES GS. In this role, Mr. Hooper’s team is responsible for leveraging the global satellite capabilities that SES operates at geostationary and medium earth orbit (MEO) to deliver superior satellite communications (SATCOM), hosted payloads, and end-to-end solutions to the US Government. SES GS currently supports mission-critical operations in support of Combatant Command (COCOM), Military Service, and other US Government customers, while working with US Government customers to prepare for the deployment of next-generation SES satellite capabilities, including the advanced O3b mPOWER satellite constellation scheduled for launch in 2022.During the period from 2016-2019, Mr. Hooper was assigned to SES Networks. As the Vice President, Global Government at SES Networks, he was responsible for leading a global team supporting defense, security, humanitarian, and institutional customers worldwide. With offices in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and the United States, the SES Global Government team delivers a full suite of satellite communications solutions for critical Allied and Coalition mission partner requirements. While stationed overseas with assignment to the SES Singapore office, Mr. Hooper was responsible for developing SES Networks strategic customers in the Asia-Pacific region, preparing and executing strategies for aeronautical, maritime, and government markets.Prior to joining SES Government Solutions in 2010, Mr. Hooper was a Vice President and Division Manager at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). In this role, he managed an operating division delivering electronic warfare, information operations, counter-IED, and intelligence support to DoD and other Agency requirements. Mr. Hooper’s division grew from 90 staff members to over 240 full-time members during his tenure. Mr. Hooper’s early career includes service in a U.S. Army light infantry company, assignment at the American Embassy Seoul, and work at Teledyne Brown Engineering supporting U.S. Army space and missile defense programs. Mr. Hooper was selected as an Organizational Management Fellow at The George Washington University. Other awards include a US State Department Meritorious Honor Award. Mr. Hooper is also an Eagle Scout.
