Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Sign in and out upon arriving and departing from any Head Start Site.
Works with assigned child implementing the goals established for that child under the direction of the classroom Teacher, Site Manager, and Special Services Coordinator.
Must be able to contribute to the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of the child that he/she is working with.
Conduct screenings and other assignments assigned by Special Services Coordinator.
Ability to pass all DCFS requirements.
Meets with Special Services Coordinator and Site Manager to discuss their assigned child and receive additional training.
Attend specific trainings to continue to broaden their knowledge of children with special needs.
Contribute to maintaining full compliance of the Performance Standards.
Bus Monitor duties.
Keep accurate and complete notes on the special needs child.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess an Associate degree in a related field and two years of experience with special needs children.
Previous experience with special needs children.

Obtain/maintain First Aid/CPR Certification.

Job Description
Provides support to the Area Director and program staff as indicated. This position is for 22.5 hours per week. Scheduled Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm. Possibility of adding an additional 2.5 hours per week if applying to the mobile food pantry worker as well.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Answer switchboard
Transfer calls to appropriate person
Take complete and accurate messages when necessary
Respond to basic information requests
Greet visitors/clients at office entrance
Inquire as to reason for visit, name etc.
Escort visitor to appointment when required
Simple typing, filing, collating, copying, faxing etc.
Review and forward time sheets to Administration
Upon assignment from Area Director provide program support to MedAssist and Financial assistance as indicated.
Respect and maintain confidentiality of all privileged information
Assist with data input and developing and running reports in order to keep information up to date.
Oversee routine file maintenance
Complete monthly building checklist and send to appropriate administrative staff person
Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
Maintain local personnel records for sick vacation, personal days, adjusted and bank time
Assist Area Director with other duties as necessary
Responsible for petty cash account, reporting to accounting department, daily receipts and local bank accounts
Coordinate and distribute employee evaluations to supervisors and insure their timely return to Administration
Secretarial support/back up duties for all programs of Area office
Coordinate the annual United Way campaign
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities, Education and Experience:
High School/General Education degree
Experience in general office procedures, basic computer skills knowledge and abilities
Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
Must have excellent organizational, written and verbal skills
