This position will focus on leading a team of partners, coaching and motivating them on meeting goals and making sure all operating policies and procedures are followed.
The Distribution Supervisor is vital in leading the efforts of our production teams. Duties include planning, organizing, training, coaching, compliance with various customers, company, government requirements and guidelines. Our Distribution Supervisor will build a depth of knowledge and expertise within one plant and become a manufacturing subject matter expert for that facility.
This role is 100% on-site at our Carthage, Missouri Distribution Center.
Must be able to work 6:00PM - 6:00AM on a 232 schedule.

What you'll do:
The Distribution Supervisor position has three main areas of focus: Leadership, Distribution Operations, and Regulatory/Customer compliance.
Train, coach, evaluate and reinforce Process Excellence principles with partners
Work with the team to make sure that daily production/shipping/receiving is organized to maximize efficiencies, making necessary adjustments as conditions change
Administer various company, plant or department processes in certification programs, pay systems, assessment/feedback processes, etc.
Together with the leadership team, ensures compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, in addition to customer requirements. Interprets and communicates customer requirements to UDC FG/UDD Dry Goods/Bulk groups
Must encourage teamwork and compliance with Plant/DC policies and procedures
Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices and good housekeeping guidelines
Must follow safety guidelines, wear designated Personal Protective Equipment, and meet OSHA safety requirements
Ensure partner accountability and provide daily communication of essential information
Lead team efforts in meeting or exceeding goals in productivity, quality, and safety
Through the use of problem-solving methods, and other quality tools identify and make process improvements -Is it intended to refer to Category 1 complaints?
Plan production operations, establish priorities and monitor progress to meet customer needs
Resolve operational, manufacturing, mechanical/maintenance opportunities to maximize efficiencies at the lowest cost
Monitor training activities and ensure proper training paperwork is completed
Assist with staffing to ensure decisions relating to the shipping/receiving schedule meet customer requirements
Work with leadership in identifying and communicating customer requirements
Be knowledgeable of various government regulations that must be complied with, i.e., OSHA, USDA, FDA, EPA, EEOC, OFCCP, etc.
Make decisions related to HACCP, product quality, HOLD & RELEASE, etc.
Assist with regulatory, customer, and internal audits
Perform all process related to: CPs, CCPs, QPs, and CQPs checks required for the position. Follow reaction plans for Food Safety, Food Quality and customer requirement deviations
What you'll need to succeed:
High School diploma or GED required. (College degree not required)

5+ years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
Gain and maintain an understanding of all equipment and computer systems

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Operational Excellence Leader at our manufacturing site in Parsons, Kansas, plays a critical role in driving the Power Flame Inc Lean Systems throughout the organization. This leader is responsible for advancing strategy deployment, implementing lean methodologies, and aligning plant-level initiatives with corporate strategic goals. The role reports to the General Manager and the Astec corporate team to ensure cohesion in strategy and execution.
KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead the deployment of the Hoshin Kanri strategy framework at the plant and Power Flame business unit level to ensure alignment with corporate goals and initiatives.
· Plan and facilitate cross-functional Kaizen events that drive measurable improvements across manufacturing, sales, and support functions.
· Implement core Lean Systems and tools such as 5S, standard work, visual management, value stream mapping, TPM, and continuous flow to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
· Champion and oversee the deployment of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), including the implementation of pillars like autonomous maintenance, planned maintenance, quality maintenance, and early equipment management.
· Design and deliver structured Lean and TPM training programs that teach tools, principles, and cultural behaviors across all organizational levels, ensuring understanding and practical application.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives across both shop floor and office operations, supporting functional leaders in achieving performance targets.
· Coach and mentor employees and leaders in structured problem-solving methods such as A3 thinking to build capability and foster ownership.
· Act as a hands-on liaison between the site and corporate teams, ensuring strategic alignment and effective communication across all improvement initiatives.
· Support capital investment planning by conducting ROI analysis and evaluating the operational impact of proposed projects.
· Develop and maintain True North Boards and PQVC (People, Quality, Velocity, Cost) dashboards to ensure performance visibility and alignment with business objectives.
· Integrate Lean thinking into onboarding and leadership development programs to reinforce a culture of continuous improvement from day one.
· Build internal problem-solving capability by coaching teams to sustain gains and independently lead improvement efforts.
