/Objective To further the mission of Girl Scout Camp by serving as the primary caregivers for each camper. The camp counselor is responsible for leading and caring for groups of campers; planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out activities; and guiding campers in their personal growth and skill development. The Kids Camp Counselor leads children through a variety of activities including rock climbing, swimming, weekly field trips, arts & crafts, gym games and more. Minimum of 2 years of college completed in a related field is preferred. Must have minimum of 2 years' experience in working with children. Evidence of work towards a graduate degree is preferred. At least 1-year experience in camp or classroom management with youth ages 5-14 years old is required. At least 6 months experience working with children with special needs is preferred. Demonstrated communication, (verbal or written), organization, creative problem solving, and human relations skills. Multi-lingual ability is preferred.
