Lead Educators provide campers with a safe, creative, inclusive, and fun learning experience. If you share our passion for creativity and community building, we encourage you to apply! Schedule: Summer camps for kids will run from June 8-August 7, 2026. Ideally, educators would commit to working a minimum of 2 weeks for the summer, though they are welcome to teach more sessions depending on interest and availability. Each educator is required to attend an orientation/training on June 4 and 5, 2026 and will work during camp weeks for a minimum of 37.5 hours/week and no more than 40 hours/week . They will also be compensated for 10 hours of prep work at the start of camps for research and lesson plan preparation, per different camp theme. If teaching the same camp for a different age group, educators will be compensated an additional 5 hours of prep work. Camp sessions run from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Educators are expected to report from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm to prepare their classrooms before camp and to clean up after each day. Pay Range: $30-$32/hour based on experience. What You'll Do As a Summer Camp Lead Educator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing art-based lesson plans that connect to the DAM collection . You will guide up to 20 campers through in-gallery experiences and art projects relating to these experiences. You will: Develop and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials Compile a supply list (within given budget) Visit the DAM ahead of time to plan lessons and choose which specific galleries to use with campers Set up and organize workshops Prep materials Work collaboratively and thoughtfully with a co-facilitator (Seasonal Educator) assigned by the DAM. This includes sharing lesson plans with the Seasonal Educator ahead of time and dividing tasks through the day. Seasonal Educators are not aides but co-facilitators and should be treated as such. The Farm Camp Specialist will be supported by the Farm and Sustainability Director on curriculum, program development, and farm operations. RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as lead educator for 5 sessions of two-week speciality Milk & Honey Farm Camp. Develop and document diverse, age appropriate activities for each Milk & Honey Farm Camp Assist the farm team with essential operations-such as weeding, animal care, harvesting, or site prep-to ensure the farm remains a safe, productive, and beautiful space Work in close coordination with the staff on the farm, ECC (Early Childhood Center) farm educator, Cherryvale Day Camp Counselors and all other staff who utilize the Milk & Honey Farm for programs. Important Details Work Schedule : Overnight camps are a 24/7 operation. The leadership team will create a schedule that provides you with one evening off/week and segments of other time off throughout the week. Position Duration: Training takes place in Colorado May 16 - 29; overnight camp programs run from May 31 through August 1. Compensation : Pay is determined based on position, additional responsibilities, relevant certifications, and staff tenure. Starting hourly are below: Instructors: $440/week Specialists: $462- $528/week Specialized certifications eligible for end-of-season bonuses! $125 - $400 per certification Job Duties Provide 24-hour support with guidance, supervision, safety and comfort for participants during all activities. Co-lead daily outdoor programming including mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, SUPing and Leave No Trace principles. Organize and participate in camp programming, ranging from outdoor sports to camp games and rituals Follow and educate campers on safety protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants Serve as a role model and guide campers by exhibiting appropriate behavior, attitudes, and activities Provide exceptional customer service to parents and all participants in our programs. If you are a trained Driver, transport up to 13 campers to and from program areas with company passenger vans. We are looking to hire responsible Summer Camp Counselor Naturalists who are excited to work with kids while living and working in a beautiful mountain setting! Summer Camp Counselor Naturalists (SCCN) will have an exceptionally unique opportunity to provide our campers with a fun, safe, and unforgettable experience in our 1,200 acre classroom. As an SCCN, you will be responsible for the needs of a group of campers during the day and in the cabins in the evenings. This includes campers' social, physical, medical, and emotional needs. You will set a good example for behavior and attitude for your campers. You will be camping in a cabin for four (4) weeks.
