**Job Summary**
This position supports executing departmental projects, including successfully working independently on tasks. The incumbent coordinates programs, events, initiatives, and projects to advance the unit's mission and goals. Primary scope of responsibility will be within the Auburn Collaborative for College Access within the Division of Enrollment Management.

**Essential Functions**
+ Coordinates departmental projects as assigned by the unit supervisor.
+ Collects, develops, analyzes, and disseminates relevant materials.
+ Works in conjunction with the unit team members and/or student employees to support current programs, primarily summer program and overnight camps in May - August.
+ Serves as point of contact on various initiatives as assigned, primarily summer program and overnight camps in May - August.
+ Provides face-to-face support to students, student employees, and student groups.
+ Facilitates communication and networking among project participants and internal and external entities.
+ Attends related meetings and support committees and workgroups. The successful candidate fosters a team-player attitude and is willing to interact with internal and external constituents, including administration, alumni, parents, students, and faculty. Additionally, the candidate will possess a strong understanding and enthusiasm for higher education, college preparation, enrollment, and student support initiatives.
**Job frequently requires the following:** Standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, lifting up to 25 pounds. Excellent organizational skills, good verbal and written communication skills. Able to interface well with the public.

Physical Requirements
The job involves substantial physical activity, such as walking and climbing (stairs, hills, ropes, ladders, poles, and wooded terrain) to reach simulators, ropes elements, and training areas. Extended periods of standing (4-6 hours or full shifts) are needed for instructing and operating simulators. Employees must be able to carry and lift items up to 50 lbs. waist-high and perform bending, kneeling, and reaching to handle supplies, operate equipment, and participate in camp activities. As a CampCounselor, you will be an active participant in all camp activities and will assist your Camp Director with a variety of daily tasks, all with the goal of creating a memorable and meaningful camp experience for your campers. Our Counselors interact with our campers throughout the entire day, helping them make friends, try new things, and generally caring for their well-being. The role of a Counselor is to participate, build relationships and have fun while ensuring the physical and emotional safety of every child.
CampCounselor Qualities
* Ability to help children grow in character, experiences and insights
* Ability to guard the health and well-being of campers at all times
* Capable of sustaining energy for participation in a full day's worth of activities
* Prior experience working with children
* Enthusiastic, Responsible, Dependable, Consistent, Level-Headed, Flexible, and Calm in all situations
* CPR/First Aid Certified OR willing to become certified before the summer begins
