This is a Computer Field Technician Position doing hardware repairs and installations on laptop and desktop units. You must have prior experience with laptop and desktop hardware. As part of your onboarding, you will be certified in Dell and Lenovo. All certifications are free to you.
Job Details
This is a 1099 Contract position. Call volume varies but is typically between 2-5 calls per day. Pay is based on the number of calls completed. Pay starts at $35 per ticket.
You will be completing hardware part replacements for Dell and Lenovo warranty services.
Pay period -every Friday after the first week of completing tickets.
You must have a reliable form of transportation to run these calls.
You must have access to a computer and the internet to log onto your portal.
Tickets are run Monday through Friday. You must be able to log into your tech portal every workday by 9 am to accept, code (update status), and map out your calls.
You will be responsible for contacting your customers and confirming a window to go onsite to complete the service.
Parts will be provided for you by the manufacturers. They are typically held at FedEx for you to pick up in the morning. You will be provided with shipping labels and materials to return the removed parts.

Fiber Optic Splicers will be responsible for performing activities related to connecting, testing and validating the integrity of new and existing outside plant telecommunication networks, related to fiber optics.
This position is intended for near-future deployment in the Montana, Tennessee, and Texas markets, with strong potential for future expansion into Idaho, Washington, and Illinois; and with the ability to travel across the US as required.
What You'll Do Here:
* Splice, test, and troubleshoot infrastructure, including Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and customer builds, ensuring reliable connectivity and service quality
* Complete daily safety documentation with a strong focus on accuracy and identifying potential hazards to maintain a safe work environment
* Document and report work completed daily, providing timely updates to support project tracking and accountability
* Inspect fiber routes and hub sites as part of preventative maintenance to ensure long-term network integrity
* Interpret technical drawings and documentation to accurately determine fiber counts and deployment requirements

What You Bring to the Team:
* Hands-on experience with fiber optic splicing, including single fiber fusion sets, ribbon fiber splicing, ribbonizing techniques, and cleaving of fiber optic cables.
* Proficiency in OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) testing, with the ability to accurately identify high losses, faults, and open locations.
* Experience working in live fiber closures and assembling specialized fiber optic closures of various types, manufacturers, and sizes.
* Skilled in fiber cable termination using a variety of connector types.
* Ability to provide and document power meter results to support quality assurance and troubleshooting.
* Thorough understanding of patch panels, pigtails, patch cords, and splice boxes for effective network setup and maintenance.
* Knowledge of work area protection and safe work practices, including electrical safety awareness and fall protection.
* Comfortable working in confined spaces or manholes, adhering to all safety protocols.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a self-motivated approach to daily tasks.

Job Details:
This is a 1099/per call position
Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The technician ensures proper installation and operation of designated Astec products including installation, commissioning startup, training, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. Deliverables & Responsibilities

· Work closely with the Functional Leadership, Product Support Managers, and Office Support Staff to ensure accurate service reports, and associated billing.
· Be available for emergency dispatch; 7 days a week, 24 hours a day to support our customers and staff.
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); some previous work-related experience is a plus; or a combination of education and experience equivalent as deemed sufficient by management.
· Minimum 0-2 years' experience in construction, manufacturing, or related fields
· Prefer 0-2 years of experience in the HMA, Concrete, or Combustion Industries
· Knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits
