Job Description
This is a Computer FieldTechnician Position doing hardware repairs and installations on laptop and desktop units. To be successful in this position, you must have prior experience with laptop and desktop hardware.
Job Details:
This is a 1099/per call position
Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.
Qualifications
Must have prior hands on experience with replacing components on laptops and desktops
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Must be comfortable with daily local travel

GENERAL DUTIES:
Operations/Maintenance:
Carry out daily inspections and maintenance on electronic equipment.
Ensure that the permit to work and isolation system is in place and followed.
Ensure that the Technical Support Center (TSC) is advised of electrical issues as required.
Participate in the effective management of the AIM (Asset & Inventory Management) system to ensure all records are maintained on a timely basis.
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair all electronic systems including dynamic positioning, communication, data acquisition, computers and navigational equipment.
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair electronic systems including, but not limited to, Subsea BOP controls and drilling package instrumentation and electronics.
Carry out installation, calibration, and modification to electronic systems and components.
Provide technical support as well as domestic and industrial electronic services to all areas of the rig.
Carry out periodic maintenance according to AIM guidelines and coordinate this maintenance with supervisor and other department heads.
Maintain an adequate supply of spares in order to fulfill maintenance requirements and facilitate a safe and efficient operation-generate requisitions as required.
Inform supervisor and other department heads of any technical problems or limitations that might affect the safe operation of the rig.
Implement the outstanding recommendations from audits, as issued by Clients, Regulatory Authorities or rig management.
Ensure that reports for repair and maintenance of equipment are accurate and complete.
Assist the Maintenance Supervisor/Chief Engineer in supplying information for maintenance and repair budget.
Communicate equipment problems or breakdown information via direct supervisor to Field Support Group.
Ensure all electronic equipment brought onto the rig, including third party equipment, is suitably certified and meets regulatory requirements.
Plan and coordinate with other departments prior to any major activity such as inspections, rig move, etc.
Personnel:
Promote and maintain good working relationships with other departments, third-party personnel and Customer representatives.
Ensure all Maintenance personnel meet the training requirements as per their applicable training matrix.
Mentor, coach, develop and train crew members to ensure they are competent to work at their next job level.
Provide leadership and motivation to the maintenance crews. Apply continuous improvement process.
Mentor the Electronic Technician and deputize when operations, security of well, and personnel safety are not at risk.
Assist in training to ensure that all personnel are competent to perform their allocated jobs.
Participate fully in the annual performance appraisal process.
