Job Summary
The Medication Assistant (MA) serves as caregiver who provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse. Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident per plan of care. Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities that may include, but are not limited to, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psycho-social support and other personal care to assigned resident. May assist the resident in transferring, re-positioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment and provides range of motion and passive exercises. Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for the resident. May assist residents with meals and snacks; provide water and supplements as appropriate.
Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within their scope of practice as defined by state regulations. Documents the outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary. Communicates changing condition, medication follow-up and care related concerns/responses to the charge nurse. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational. Provides assistance and documentation with wellness and recreational programs and encourages residents to participate.
Qualifications
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
Minimum age of 18 preferred. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually based on state requirements. Maintains all department specific required certifications. When applicable, may need a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
Iowa: Require Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing. CNA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing. Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course once CNA certification is obtained.
Minnesota: Must have nursing assistant certification, have completed the 75-hour course and be registered with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry. Successful completion of a state-approved Trained Medication Assistant course.
North Dakota: Require Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing. CNA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing. Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course once CNA certification is obtained. If working in an Assisted Living or Basic Care facility, Medication Assistant I certification required. If working in a skilled nursing facility, Medication Assistant II certification is required.
South Dakota: Must successfully complete the state approved Certified Medication Aide (CMA) course. CMA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing.

Program Objective/End-state:
To prepare and equip aspiring pastors for vocational ministry in the church by providing the foundations for pastoral leadership through mentorship, study, and practical ministry.
Three core components:
Heart: Spiritual Formation: Resident will be discipled by the Senior Pastor or another elder.
Head: Academic: Resident will have weekly readings and writing assignments in various disciplines and meet weekly to discuss with the senior pastor.
Hands: Practical ministry: Resident will serve in a specific area of ministry (based on calling, giftedness, and need), complete a ministry project each year, and will be given opportunities to teach and/or preach. Other opportunities may include observing elder meetings, accompanying on visits, preparing for church events, and leading/facilitating Bible studies.

High School graduate interested in pursuing vocational ministry with some Bible
College or seminary training
Commitment to join the church and serve for 1 year, with the possibility for a follow-on year
Meet the character qualifications of an elder
Have the recommendation of a pastor where he is a member
Have the full support of your spouse, if applicable
Time Commitment: 6-10 hours/week

JOB SUMMARY
The Parent Child Assistance Program (PCAP) Specialist works in close cooperation regarding referrals from the community on expectant mothers and of newborns who are actively using substances, to determine needed and desired support services. Provides case management services and refers families to treatment and needed community support services to assure that families are connected. This is done through outreach, weekly home visitation case management and advocacy work for needed services. This program is based on the evidence-based model, Parent-Child Assistance Program (PCAP).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Case Management & Evaluation
Will engage families and establish a trusting relationship that is built on a strengths-based approach, is culturally competent, with a thorough understanding of how substance abuse, child abuse, and domestic violence can impact a child's ability to thrive. Complete all required assessments on any parents as needed. Based on the assessment and identified needs create a service plan for each mother and her infant and work with community professionals to implement the plan. The plan will address social and health care needs as well as treatment needs for the parents.
Communication
Establishes positive and trusting relationships through appropriate communication with community partners in child welfare (Judges, DCF Workers, Law Enforcement, District Attorney, Child Care Providers, Juvenile Intake), and other community human service professionals (Psychologists, medical doctors, drug and alcohol counselors). When professional disagreements exist, will use professional judgment to determine what is in the best interest of the child and then advocate appropriately attaining service goals.
Community Collaborations
Continually evaluates the availability, accessibility, and eligibility of community services available to assist families with assessed needs; including housing and treatment options. Maintains a working knowledge of these resources and assists family in accessing the services when it is identified on the service plan or will assist in meeting the child/family goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitors Residents - Observes, documents, and ensures the accountability of all residents while within the facility and in the community by enforcing all rules, responsibilities, and restrictions assigned to residents. A Resident Monitor also provides control and documentation of transactions regarding all money, subsistence, medications, first-aid supplies, mail, visitors, accountability checks, and telephone calls.
Assists with managing program services - Assists and supports Counselors with resident programming that may include but not be limited to installing electronic monitoring equipment, visiting residents in their homes and places of employment, and providing alcohol and urine surveillance testing.
Monitors Facility - Conducts and documents scheduled internal and external inspections of the premises to maintain the residents' health, safety, and accountability. Ensures physical plant safety/sanitation standards are maintained.
Maintains Working Knowledge and follows all Procedures and Policies - Outlined in the Statement of Work, Physical Plant, and Operations Manuals. Proficiency in knowledge and operations of emergency drills, life safety, facility sanitation, escapes, and unusual occurrence procedures.
Work Schedule - In the event of a work stoppage, works the hours necessary to staff the center. Will accept reassigned shifts without advanced notice. Attend and participate in all required appointments/meetings. Some meetings/appointments may be scheduled off-site.
Sanitation - Responsible for general housekeeping of the center, including dusting, polishing, vacuuming, and emptying trash.

In 2020, we began an intentional revitalization process in partnership with a sending church in nearby Papillion, NE.
Program Objective/End-state:
To prepare and equip aspiring pastors for vocational ministry in the church by providing the foundations for pastoral leadership through mentorship, study, and practical ministry.
Three core components:
Heart: Spiritual Formation: Resident will be discipled by the Senior Pastor or another elder.
Head: Academic: Resident will have weekly readings and writing assignments in various disciplines and meet weekly to discuss with the senior pastor.
Hands: Practical ministry: Resident will serve in a specific area of ministry (based on calling, giftedness, and need), complete a ministry project each year, and will be given opportunities to teach and/or preach. Other opportunities may include observing elder meetings, accompanying on visits, preparing for church events, and leading/facilitating Bible studies.
