Essential Functions
We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Tank Welding to serve as the primary technical expert for tank welding processes, standards, training, and continuous improvement. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring welders, troubleshooting complex welding issues, and collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Training teams. This position may also fill in for Leads or Supervisors during planned absences.
Accountabilities:Technical Expertise & Support
Serve as the primary expert on tank welding processes, material preparation, and best practices.
Guide welders in interpreting blueprints, drawings, and work orders accurately.
Train welders on correct setup, operation, and maintenance of welding equipment.
Recommend appropriate welding methods, filler materials, and procedures based on tank requirements.
Inspect and ensure all welds meet structural, quality, and JTS standards.
Troubleshoot complex tank issues and identify root causes to reduce rework.
Onboard and train new welders on proper techniques, tool usage, and safety procedures.
Partner with the training team to help create or contribute to work instructions, SOPs, and visual aids.
Serve as a mentor and knowledge resource for the team, promoting skill development and cross-training.
Monitor and uphold high standards for tank quality and accuracy.
Ensure consistent application of safety practices and PPE usage.
Support adherence to company and industry standards for tank assembly.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in nuclear energy technologies, specifically in the development, demonstration, and operations of the AC-100M centrifuge. The primary responsibilities of this role include providing independent technical reviews in various areas such as centrifuge design, manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance, and Balance of Plant support systems and deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct independent technical reviews in centrifuge design, manufacture, installation, operation, and maintenance.
Provide expertise in Balance of Plant support systems and deployment.
Collaborate with DOE to assess reports and presentations related to centrifuge development and licensing.
Support DOE in the evaluation of enrichment capability deployment projects.
Ensure compliance with program schedules, cost containment, and performance metrics.
Assist in the hiring and retention of key personnel for project execution.
Mitigate risks associated with project implementation.
Provide services under a performance-based service acquisition contract.
Core Support Functions:
Provide support through steady state operations with special emphasis on cascade performance, maintenance activities and parts replacement (as needed).
Perform functional assessments of Centrus' compliance to regulatory criteria of the Lessee Requirements Document contained within the lease agreements between Centrus and DOE.
Perform independent evaluations (operational and compliance based), readiness reviews, assessments, walk-downs, and field inspections at the Centrus facilities in Piketon, OH.
Support coordination of regulatory boundary activities with co-located DOE contractors, DOE site personnel, and with the NRC (when appropriate).
Support coordination and interface with DOE entities, Lease activities, and other DOE contractors for liaison activities associated with Centrus and NRC regarding regulatory activities.
Develop analyses, technical assessments, and white papers to support decisions by DOE/NE management at DOE Headquarters (HQ).
Review and develop analysis of reports, assessments, and technical/programmatic descriptions/proposals and/or cost analysis documentation related to uranium enrichment technologies.
Analyze DOE requirements involving Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) as they may relate to DOE lessees, contractors, and other federal agency activities such as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission related to the ACP Facilities.
Analyze security/facility access programs, maintenance of security access agreements including the performance of technical evaluations readiness reviews, assessments, walk-downs, and field inspections.
Address general NE-HQ requests associated with Centrus facilities in Oak Ridge, TN, Bethesda, MD, and Piketon, OH.
Provide SME, project management, engineering and technical assistance to NEHQ regarding the project planning, execution, and deployment of domestic uranium enrichment capability and capacity to meet commercial power reactor, research reactor and defense needs, including the HALEU Demonstration and Operations Program.

Responsibilities and Duties
Seeking a highly qualified Nuclear Energy Subject Matter Expert (SME) to represent The Department of Energy Office of Nuclear Energy (DOE/NE) regarding the AC-100M Centrifuge Development and Licensing. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in nuclear energy technologies, specifically in the development, demonstration, and operations of the AC-100M centrifuge. Perform independent evaluations (operational and compliance based), readiness reviews, assessments, walk-downs, and field inspections at the Centrus facilities in Piketon, OH.
Support coordination of regulatory boundary activities with co-located DOE contractors, DOE site personnel, and with the NRC (when appropriate).
Support coordination and interface with DOE entities, Lease activities, and other DOE contractors for liaison activities associated with Centrus and NRC regarding regulatory activities.
Develop analyses, technical assessments, and white papers to support decisions by DOE/NE management at DOE Headquarters (HQ).
Review and develop analysis of reports, assessments, and technical/programmatic descriptions/proposals and/or cost analysis documentation related to uranium enrichment technologies.
Analyze DOE requirements involving Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) as they may relate to DOE lessees, contractors, and other federal agency activities such as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission related to the ACP Facilities.
Analyze security/facility access programs, maintenance of security access agreements including the performance of technical evaluations readiness reviews, assessments, walk-downs, and field inspections.
Address general NE-HQ requests associated with Centrus facilities in Oak Ridge, TN, Bethesda, MD, and Piketon, OH.
Provide SME, project management, engineering and technical assistance to NEHQ regarding the project planning, execution, and deployment of domestic uranium enrichment capability and capacity to meet commercial power reactor, research reactor and defense needs, including the HALEU Demonstration and Operations Program.
Provide review and input on additional Special Technical Topics/Issues that might develop, the specifics of which will be defined and negotiated as topics/issues arise. This includes support for formal cost estimates.
Attend and provide review and assessment of reports and presentations prepared and given by Centrus on the status, progress and requirements associated with deployment and operation of centrifuge technology.

+ Software Vendor Market Insights: Conduct research and deliver key insights on selected software vendors, including but not limited to, changing pricing models, negative industry behaviors, and upgrade/retirement plans that may influence our software purchase and renewal strategies. Raise risks and concerns as they arise with key incumbent vendors to ensure the opportunity for GTBS to review and take action as needed.
**_Qualifications_**
+ 8-12 years of experience in IT strategy, enterprise architecture, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a strategic planning role, preferred
+ Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
+ Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud computing, enterprise resource management applications including experience with distribution and manufacturing systems, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
+ Proven experience in strategic planning and roadmap development.
+ Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
+ Outstanding time management and organization skills with ability to work across multiple job levels to achieve results.
+ Ability to influence and engage with senior leadership and business stakeholders.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.
+ In-depth understanding of healthcare industry standards, compliance standards, and best practices in IT management.
+ Certifications: Relevant certifications such as TOGAF or PMP are a plus.
+ Strong research skills, providing key software market insights on targeted vendors. Ability to stay informed and provide succinct escalations as appropriate.
