Internal classification of Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) and/or Medicare Appeal Counsel documents with redirection to DDE for documents that belong to another team in ATS and processing of other documents in existing cases to the analysts (i.e., additional information, decisions). Currently, each of the five coordinators is responsible for classifying all documents received on a specific day of the week. If an expedited Part D hearing or decision is received, the coordinator completes all the coordinator tasks in ATS to get to the analyst to meet compliance timeframes.
Monitoring and processing of emails received in ALJ Team Mailbox on the specific day of the week. This includes responding to emails (or coordinating with Manager when needed), manual addition of a document received into ATS (including combining document and email in Adobe), or forwarding to correct individual on ALJ team or another Team for action to be taken.
On the other 4 days of the week, the coordinator will focus on processing Notice of Hearing backlog cases for assignment to analyst and complete any necessary outreach tasks.
Performing external outreaches to the ALJ Office (i.e., clarification questions or confirming potential legal assistant error in which a member is unlocatable in the system and may have been intended for another plan), sending a document request to physician/facilities to obtain medical records for the case file.
This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work on any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
This will be on the job training and the hours during training will be normal business hours, Monday - Friday.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Processing ALJ Office On the Record (OTR) requests in ATS in collaboration with the analyst on case. External outreach to the ALJ is required with the plan decision.
* Performing internal outreach to obtain Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) case files and/or QIO Determination letters.
* Performing external outreach to applicable provider/facility for medical records for analyst and UHC Medical Director review.
* Confirming ALJ Team calendar is accurate with case information.
* Communication with analysts to determine if a position statement can be submitted when there are no analysts available. This may include additional processing of an amended Response to Notice of hearing document to the ALJ Field Office.
* Communicate to management any increased volumes, missed hearings, ALJ decisions indicating plan failed to appear, and/or MAC decisions sent by plan untimely or dismissed.
* Effectively communicates any special ALJ request timelines timely to analysts.
* Creation of clear and concise notes in ATS system for intake document processing or special instructions.
* Processing of required forms externally via ALJ portal or by facsimile.
* Working backlog items when needed from SharePoint.
* Processing coordinator letters or requests for information from ATS tool via ALJ portal or facsimile.
* Keeping track of all items needed from external outreach attempts and/or those needed additional outreach for assigned cases.
* Communication of potential defects or issues in ATS so that a ticket can be created.
Possible additional duties:
* Printing letters received by analysts, completing mailing for Post Office pick up, and noting ATS
* Scanning and processing incoming hard copy mail into ATS and
* Processing CD and thumb drive documents into respective cases in ATS.

Required Qualifications:
* High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
* Must be 18 years of age or older
* 2+ years of experience in a business office environment using telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform your job duties

* Basic knowledge of GPS
* Proficiency in Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Appeals Process
* Experience with Microsoft Word (create/edit documents), Excel (sort/filter, tables), PowerPoint (create/edit presentations), Outlook and Adobe Acrobat

Where state and federal laws/regulations allow, accountable for performing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations, administrative activities; Ensures efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience. Serves as a full-time certified pharmacy technician.

Customer Experience

Resolves customer complaints, helps respond to customers' requests in a timely manner and answers non-clinical questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Operations
Responsible for assisting pharmacist in the delivery of patient care including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation of medications for patients, counting, and verifying (where allowed by law). Completes patient and physician calls under the supervision of a pharmacist (where allowed by law). Under the supervision of a pharmacist assists with healthcare service offerings including administering vaccines, health screenings, and any health services allowed by law.
Within the guidelines of authorized company policies, state and federal laws/regulations, exercises independent judgment to delegate, direct, and assign non-clinical work in the pharmacy. Ensures tasks are completed on-time and holds others accountable for efficient workflow.
At the direction of the Pharmacy Manager or pharmacist, prepares, and files reports and records required by the company and various government agencies.
Manages core pharmacy workflow and drives excellence in pharmacy operations. Coordinates and organizes pharmacy daily schedule of activities. Recommends allocation of pharmacy hours. Assures the pharmacy is clean, neat, orderly, and stocked with adequate supplies.
Under the direction of the pharmacist, exercises independent judgment to ensure compliance and execution of all business administrative activities and pharmacy inventory management tasks that do not require pharmacist licensure. Manages annual inventory preparation.
Accountable for completion of non-clinical patient calls.
Drives new technology/ process roll out, champions change and engages team around action planning. Assures proper operation and maintenance of pharmacy department equipment. In collaboration with Pharmacy Manager, responsible for recordkeeping and ensuring security safeguards are in-place.
Under supervision of the pharmacist, strictly adheres to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription-dispensing activities and understands their role in ensuring that the elements of Good Faith Dispensing are met.
Maintains and applies knowledge of Company asset protection techniques. Supports Pharmacy Manager with diversion monitoring and reports any concerns that would compromise the security of the pharmacy to the Pharmacy Manager.
Communicates prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist, and adheres to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Continuous Quality Improvement Program.
Ensures the accurate processing of insurance claims to resolve customer issues and prevent payment rejections. Follows-up with insurance companies as well as medical providers and conducts or participates in 3rd party audit.
Assists and supports Store Manager and Pharmacy Manager in analyzing and seeking to improve pharmacy financials, operational quality and customer service.
Manages Community Outreach Portal and coordinates and, at the direction of the Pharmacy Manager, assigns pharmacists to off-site immunization clinics and community events. Builds and sustains relationships with retail partnerships.
People & Performance Management
Leads performance management of technicians including making decisions and recommendations regarding discipline and termination. Follows constructive discipline policy to discipline, suspend, terminate or effectively recommend the same. Uses constructive discipline policy to ensure pharmacy technicians are compliant with state and federal laws. Holds technician accountable for attendance and timeliness. Maintains and improves performance of pharmacy through team member engagement and action planning.
Accountable for technician hiring, on-boarding, training, and scheduling. Monitors and holds pharmacy technicians accountable for timely training completion. Follows established policies and procedures set by the company for scheduling and training.
Accountable for identifying gaps in pharmacy operations knowledge among team members and supporting those team members in their training, either through hands-on training or assignment of learning modules.
Assists Pharmacy Manager in monitoring that all pharmacy and team member licensures, registrations and certifications are active and in good standing/ compliant with all regulatory and legal requirements. Leverages Walgreens resources such as Walgreens Online Verification System to assist in documenting licensure status.
Ensures proper procedures are followed for selection, recruitment, record retention, and training as required by Company policy and local, state and federal laws.

Maintains PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration.

Underwrites new and existing subdivision account submissions of virtually all sizes and complexities utilizing underwriting authority granted by Chief Underwriting Officer and adhering to required underwriting guidelines. Assesses and identifies changes in all aspects of the business including, but not limited to, work program to financial strength criteria, nature of work performed (inherent risk), accuracy and timeliness of data flow, and exposure analyses. Coordinates and/or surfaces issues to manager and/or field Bond Manager. As directed by more senior staff/manager, monitors marketing, underwriting and/or administrative issues within various offices, as assigned. Prepare, recommend, and/or implement instructions for administering workflows and accounting/billing issues to service unique situations.
Utilizes various applications and data and analyzes statistical and financial reports, claims data, and other financial exhibits/data to ensure the quality of existing and new business. Communicates issues of concern on new and existing business to the applicable field office product line underwriter and/or Bond Manager, as necessary and inputs data on accounts to complete or modify analyses and maintain lines of credit in a current and accurate matter. Pursues resolution of open issues, documents result and adjusts credit parameters extended to specific accounts based upon such facts and findings. Applies sound reason and business logic to credit recommendations, documenting such logic file and communicate credit recommendations to more senior Home Office and Field underwriting staff, as necessary.
May directly manage and/or provide underwriting support and direction to less experienced underwriting staff/interns.
As necessary, collaborates with Claims staff to evaluate and/or resolve claim issues and as appropriate, takes immediate action to restrict credit on affected account. Keeps senior underwriting staff/manager informed of claims issues.
Represents Liberty Mutual Surety with competitors regarding co-Surety matters and attends industry functions (i.e., Regional NASBP conferences, AGC, and trade conventions). May speak as requested at external industry meetings.

Review indemnity agreements prepared by the field, and account rates, for errors.
In some parts of the country, underwrite subdivision business directly with Liberty appointed agents.
Qualifications
Degree in Business or related field typically required
A minimum of 7 years expected, typically 10 years or more, of progressive surety underwriting experience and/or other related business experience with progressive responsibility desired
Advanced analytical ability and decision-making skills to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within scope of responsibility
Demonstrated ability to make and clearly communicate sound underwriting recommendations that includes complex analyses, both verbal and written, and displays strong interpersonal skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
Must demonstrate comprehension of most complex technical underwriting issues and be capable of defining and implementing necessary underwriting and administrative processes/workflows

Basic Qualifications

Responsibilities
Underwrites new and existing accounts in conformance with underwriting guidelines.
Works independently on standard existing accounts.
Focuses heavily on developing underwriting skills, and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Promotes Surety account submissions from assigned producers or territory via marketing efforts and underwrites new business submissions with assistance, as appropriate.
Develops and executes field marketing plans, when assigned.
Explains the Liberty Mutual Surety target accounts strategy to producers/customers and quickly identifies accounts that are inside and outside these guidelines.
Qualifications
Degree in Business or equivalent typically required
At least 1 year, typically 1.5 or more years, of surety underwriting experience and/or other related business experience
Typically includes completion of the Surety Underwriter Development Program
Ability to successfully develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships
Demonstrates strong Surety underwriting fundamentals and core understanding of the Surety Underwriting process and principles of suretyship
Demonstrated analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within defined authority
Has a working knowledge of the key finance and accounting concepts, business law and ethical guidelines, and of the various Surety products underwritten by Liberty Mutual and/or across the Surety industry
Effective communication and interpersonal skills required with ability to successfully develop and maintain productive producer/customer relationships.

Role Overview
The Director of Payer Relations is responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with national and regional health plans and other third-party payers. This role ensures that Shockwave Medical's products are positioned favorably with payers, networks, and reimbursement structures to maximize patient access and organizational revenue. The individual will also partner cross-functionally with members of the sales, marketing, and clinical affairs teams to inform the long-term evidence strategy required to obtain and maintain reimbursement in U.S. markets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development and execution of national and regional payer coverage and reimbursement strategies, including clinical data and publication requirements, health economics, and general value proposition models, to ensure successful payer negotiations, commercial viability, and improved patient access to covered IVL indications.
* Engage with third-party evidence review organizations to ensure up-to-date reviews of Shockwave clinical data and provide education and materials in support of positive conclusions from clinical literature.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with target payers and build a working knowledge of their key processes including medical policy, utilization review, health outcomes, risk management, provider contracting, and claims processing.
* Develop relationships with Advisory Committee members and payer Medical Directors (key influencers for our indications) for public and private payers to support changes that reflect local medical practices.
* Influence policy development such as new Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs) and engage with various coverage advisory groups to enhance patient access.
* Effectively leverage and communicate published literature and other evidence to payers, demonstrating IVL value that positively influences coverage policy development.
* Monitor payer coverage policies, track review periods, and analyze data on medical review, prior authorization, and claims payment trends to inform payer strategy, tactics, and team priorities.
* Collaborate with Field Reimbursement Managers as needed for ongoing strategy execution.
* Support Clinical Education with lead local physician advocates to influence payer coverage and medical review policies.
* Improve effectiveness and focus of industry alliances, as needed, that support Medicare and commercial payer policy and patient access.
* Provide internal and external voice-of-customer (VOC) feedback to guide strategy development.
* Develop programs to train Sales Representatives and key economic customers on reimbursement issues.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in public policy, health economics, or life sciences required; Master's degree preferred.
* 7-10 years of healthcare coding, coverage, and reimbursement experience with medical devices; vascular or coronary experience is a plus.
* Experience with complex reimbursement areas including Medicare and commercial payer policies and processes.
* Demonstrated success in developing coverage for emerging technologies and influencing payer policies.
* Strong understanding of clinical and economic data, coding, coverage, and payment issues.
* Expertise in reimbursement principles across various healthcare settings (physician offices, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers).
* Willingness to travel 25-50% as required.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $430,000 - $887,500. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role.
