Additional Locations: Travel Throughout NE Ohio Work Site: On Site The Underground Fiber Lineman/Foreman will specialize in the placement and maintenance of underground telecommunications infrastructure. This position involves operating construction equipment to create pathways for fiber optic lines, working in trenches and confined spaces, and ensuring the integrity and reliability of our network. Job Duties Install, maintain, and repair underground fiber optic communication lines and systems. Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including trenchers, plows, and directional boring machines, to create pathways for conduit and cable. Pull and place fiber optic cables through conduits and in trenches. Work in confined spaces such as trenches, tunnels, and crawl spaces to access and work on telecommunication lines. Read and interpret blueprints, staking sheets, and engineering work orders to guide installation and repairs. Perform site restoration, including backfilling trenches and landscaping, upon project completion. Adhere to industry standards and local, state, and federal regulations, including familiarity with NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) codes to identify violations. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on all tools and equipment. Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to company standards.
