As a Branch Operations Lead in a Chase Branch, you'll be at the heart of our branch operations, working closely with the Branch Manager, branch employees, and our team of experts. DECM also acts as the DAC representative on matters involving the State Property Office and State Building Commission. Our unified purpose is to provide architectural and engineering support, sustainability, efficiency, and resiliency planning, as well as construction and maintenance services. This ensures that all statewide Institutions and Facilities comply with building codes, regulations, and legislative mandates while promoting the agency's rehabilitation and reentry goals through offender job training in the construction and maintenance trades.
We support the Institutions and Facilities directly and indirectly by installing and maintaining kitchen, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and electronics equipment. The DECM-Engineering team consists of experts in architectural and engineering design, property services, project management, and sustainability, efficiency, and resiliency (SE&R). Through valuable rehabilitation and training for offenders, we aim to improve recidivism rates. Position Overview:
The Inbound Supervisor is responsible for the receipt of all inbound goods, manifest verification, unloading and staging, quality control inspection, and put away of all inbound freight, including imported product containers, domestic vendor shipments and intercompany transfers. He/She is responsible to reconcile actual received goods against the inbound manifest to ensure accurate counts and to report/communicate any discrepancies in a timely manner to the necessary internal department.
The Inbound Supervisor is also responsible for providing leadership and direct supervision over the Quality Control Inspectors and the Material Handling associates assigned within this specific work team. As the supervisor, he/she will be called upon to oversee, coordinate, and direct the team's work performance in accordance with the Company's specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). He/She will be required to coordinate with other departments, leads, and supervisors in order to plan efficient usage of the labor resources available and to make labor shifts as prioritizations within the operations change. He/she will be expected to assist the team by performing various work tasks and duties in support to meet the necessary inbound freight schedule. This role has a strong planning and administration function, which requires daily planning, scheduling, recordkeeping, and reporting of work performance achievements verses expected KPI's. The Inbound Supervisor is the initial check and balance for DMA to correct any mistakes or omissions in deliveries arriving to the company or to denote any damages. Therefore, this role requires excellent proactive communication skills, both with other internal departments and the delivering organizations, as necessary. This includes communications about shipment schedules, timing of container arrivals, shortages or overages, product damages from shipping and other specific quality checks. The timely processing and communication of all inbound shipments is critical to meet customer order fulfillment requirements.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for coordinating and supervising all inbound freight receiving functions.
· Acts as a team builder who plans, staffs, directs, and ensures the efficient operation of the team. Walks the floor, holds regular department meetings, and actively maintains an overall awareness of the entire DC facility operation.
· Monitor, update, and communicate the Master Receiving Schedule for the entire distribution center. Ensure timely receipt and processing of all inbound freight shipments in accordance with the required SOP's.
· Provide management and oversight of the Quality Control Specialists and Material Handling associates within the department to ensure their work is being completed in compliance with all company SOP's.
· Communicate, plan, and coordinate with the Supply Chain Management Team on all issues relating to the receipt and reconciliation of inbound shipments.
· Work closely with the Supply Chain Management Team to communicate receiving issues and to resolve any scheduling conflicts
· Work closely with the DC General Manager to develop and implement inbound receiving policies and programs that meet the costs and service obligations of the DC. Support the GM with administrative and other managerial tasks as required.
· Responsible for keeping all shipment receiving records, filing, and document storage in an organized manner according to the departments SOP procedures.
· Measure and report to management on the department's performance achievements as compared to KPI's on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
· Coordinate and schedule staffing levels based on labor needs. Provide regular oversight, feedback and retraining as needed to help team members improve and be successful.
· Ensure compliance by all receiving team members so that their work is being performed consistently to the standards as outlined by the specific work task SOP's.
· Maintain proactive communications with your team members, other company departments, customer logistical teams, and with your direct supervisor during each workday.
· Ensure compliance by all receiving team members to company safety, housekeeping, and PPE practices.
