Has some breadth, depth and/or frequency of interaction with external contacts. Typical examples include updating assets in Asset Center, following KB articles for problem resolution, and following unit specific processes. Responsible for effective e-mail communications and ability to create and maintain basic documents/records: TYPICAL EXAMPLES: --contact lists --process logs --problem incidence reports --customer information updates - exterior ship orders --inventory, maintenance or other service records--handling standard facilities administration requests Responsible for recognizing problems with the processes/operations supported. Is responsible for resolving those problems with pre- established and documented solutions. Typical examples includes scheduling routine equipment maintenance, ordering supplies, monitoring inventory, updating data records, and interacting with suppliers.     The Technical Support Specialist provides technical support and guidance by troubleshooting user issues, installing and configuring hardware/software, and assisting with system maintenance. Qualification Requirements: A two-year IT associate degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, MIS, Systems/Network Administration is required. A bachelor's degree in IT Management or related fields is a plus. Thorough understanding of IT principles, cyber security, operating and networking systems, interfaces, policies, and procedures. Expert computer skills in Microsoft Windows environment. Must be skilled in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with SharePoint (configuration, management, or customization) is highly desirable. Ability to explain technical problems and offer solutions to those without technological training. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be detail orientated, self-motivated with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent analytical and management skills, while technically savvy. Must be willing to interact with people and work in team environments. A valid driver's license is required or the ability to obtain one. Physical Requirements: Ability to operate a computer under normal ergonomic office conditions. Must be able to clearly articulate both verbal and written communications and directives. Required to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. May require prolonged periods of standing and walking to perform some of the typical tasks and duties. Must be able to work required hours in the office during scheduled hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Must be able to travel to offsite assignments. (Less than 25% travel). Essential Tasks and Duties: Manages multisite computer hardware, software, and phone systems via enterprise resource planning (ERP). Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software, and peripherals. Help with basic security tasks, such as managing user access and ensuring compliance with security policies. Collaborate with other departments and vendors to schedule and implement software and hardware updates and functionality tests; resolve any issues that are identified during the testing process. Provide assistance to employees with technical problems as needed via email, virtual options, phone or in person; able to diagnose the source of problems and escalate complex issues when necessary. Ensure end users receive proper IT-related training. Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers. Practice and support continuous improvement initiatives within the company. Keeps abreast of latest technical advancements, Information Technology techniques and concepts. Assist the planning process related to IT infrastructure for future company growth. Performs other related duties as assigned.
