Responsibilities:

Infection Control & Environmental Health/Safety Utilize infection control procedure and demonstrate safe consciousness in assessing environmental needs.
Ensure that classroom tables, chairs, cabinets, cubbies, cots, toys, and bookshelves are cleaned routinely to ensure that infection control risks are minimized
Clean/sweeps floors to remove materials that may pose a safety hazard (food, water, paper etc.).
Removes broken toys, reports unsafe wood surfaces or running surfaces.
Ensure that staff are stationed on the playground to allow for adequate supervision and response time for the children's needs and coverage for station are consistently maintained.
Ensures that bleach and cleaning solutions are prepared correctly, are labelled with date and time and are in a locked area.
Assist in coordinating environmental needs with team to ensure a safe, clean, well-stocked area and an area which meets the children and family's needs.
Performs other duties are assigned and/or participates in special projects to support the mission of the client and department.
Accept alternate assignments, as required.
Education:
Two (2) year degree in early childhood education, child psychology, psychology, or closely related field.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 40 hours of coursework in early childhood education or related field (i.e., Child Psychology, Children's Literature).
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's or master's degree in early childhood education or Elementary Education.
Licensure/Certification:

Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) engages families for success. Its Division of Child Support Enforcement (DCSE) manages nearly 246,000 cases to ensure that child support payments of $598 million per year reach families across the Commonwealth. Support Enforcement Specialists establish and sustain helping relationships with parents who have payment obligations as well as parents who depend on those payments.
A Support Enforcement Specialist Senior serves as lead program agent on an assigned child support case management team, engaging families for success so that they have the financial and family support they need to grow and thrive. Duties may include managing the most complex cases of child support obligations and health care coverage in functional areas such as Locate, Establishment, Court, Enforcement, Interstate, and Review & Adjustment; or, supporting a team of Specialists who are assigned those cases.
