Full-time Description Summer STEM Explorers offers campers unique interactive learning experiences to develop their interest and passion for science. Job Description As a Kidcam Summer Camp Counselor, you are the heart of the camper experience, serving as a role model, mentor, and leader for children ages 5-13. Counselors are responsible for supervising and engaging with their assigned camper group, ensuring safety, building connections, and fostering a positive, inclusive environment where every child feels valued and has fun. Pre-Camp: Counselors participate in staff training to learn Kidcam's policies, safety procedures, and activity facilitation techniques. They prepare to lead games, activities, and transitions while developing leadership skills to create a memorable camper experience. During Camp: Counselors actively supervise their group, facilitate daily activities, encourage participation, and maintain a fun and safe environment. They are expected to engage in all aspects of camp life-from sports and swimming to arts, science, and special events-while modeling teamwork, positivity, and respect. Counselors also help with transitions, enforce rules, and assist with any camper needs, including emotional support, behavior redirection, and adapting activities for inclusivity. Post-Camp: Counselors assist with end-of-day wrap-ups, ensure their group's area is clean and organized, and help close camp each week by reviewing camper progress, highlighting achievements, and supporting special events or closing activities. This position requires energy, enthusiasm, patience, and the ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The J Summer Day Camp program is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). The camp runs 10 weeks, June 2- August 8, providing activities that help campers Play, Connect and Grow throughout each camp day: swimming, arts/crafts, climbing, team building, sports and much more. The J is currently hiring for Camp Coordinator for Chesterfield location. All camp staff must attend mandatory staff orientation on May 27 - June 1. Responsibilities: Supervising campers, ensuring their safety at all times. Supervise Camp Counselors. Maintaining accurate attendance records and groupings. Administering first aid as needed. Plan and schedule camp activiites. Fill in as specialist as needed. Engage with campers and counselors and ensure camp counselors are consistently engaging with their campers. Ensure campers and counselors are behaving appropriately at all times by being both proactive and reactive as necessary. Communicate with parents, as needed, to colabrate on camper behavior, sharing both positve and negitive intereactions that occur during the camp day. Swim with campers when directed. Assist Swim Instructors with lessons as needed, engage with campers in the pool during free swim. Serve as “eyes on deck” when assigned. Ensure camp counselors are doing the same. Care for the physical and emotional well being of campers and counselors at all times. Be a supportive team member, demonstrate a postive attitude. Provide quality customer service at all times. Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving. Observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques (appropriate techniques will be reviewed during staff orientation). Enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures. Follow and enforce all J and Day Camp rules and regulations. Administor performance reviews under the direction of Site Director(s). Other duties assigned by supervisor. Qualifications Minimum of 18 years of age. Previous camp or childcare experience essential. Auditory, visual, ambulatory, cognitive, communications and physical ability to complete major tasks at camp. Ability to relate to and communicate with one's peer group, parents, as well as to campers' age and skill levels. Ability to provide guidance, supervision, and engage with children in an enthusiastic manner is required. Ability to assist in teaching an activity; specialized knowledge required for sports, specialty , and arts camps. Ability to assist campers in emergency situations; including fire, evacuation, illness or injury. Good character, integrity and adaptability. Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self control. Judaic experiences preferred or a willingness to learn. Current American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certification is required for certain camps (training provided if necessary). Note that some camps require successful registration on the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry as a condition of employment. If required, this registration must be maintained in good standing for continued employment.

Summary: The Camp Host Lead is assigned to a selected recreation area (or cluster of smaller areas) within a larger recreation complex. This may include a large campground or day use area, or a cluster of campgrounds and use areas. The Lead Host reports directly to an Operations Manager, and is responsible for the personnel (including training, and scheduling), regular operations, financial accountability, facility maintenance, equipment use and care, tool use, care, and storage, within the assigned campground. RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees the general operations within a permitted area; corrects any operational deficiencies in order to comply with Permit, Operating Plan and Company operating standards. Supervises and trains hosts and maintenance personnel according to established procedures and develops effective working relationships with same. Assists in conducting training workshops, including new hire orientation at the beginning of each season and ongoing safety tailgate meetings. Maintains a good working relationship with fellow employees, governmental agency representatives, and the visiting public. Handles visitor complaints and rules violations in a courteous and professional manner and seeks to resolve such situations quickly and effectively. Troubleshoots and responds to situations as they occur within permitted areas. Makes suggestions and recommendations to improve or streamline operations. Performs manual labor tasks and may perform or supervise certain construction and maintenance tasks; assists maintenance personnel in the performance of routine duties. Assists/participates in all phases of fee collection, facility and grounds maintenance tasks, and water and utility system testing as needed. Secures, processes and maintains all records pertaining to deposits and revenues, and submits reports as directed. Reports problems and any unsafe or hazardous conditions as they are discovered, and enforces rules according to Company customer service standards.
