Responsibilities Providing PM/CM Consultant Services as an Owner's Representative over a higher education market sector project Ensures operations are executed in accordance with company project management procedures and policies ensures delivery and adherence to contractual requirements and that all aspects of owner contracts are accomplished Manage the procurement phase and development of RFQs and RFPs Oversight of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirements Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities Manage project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures required by the client Identifies and manages risk on the project, and advises and confers with regional executive prior to implementing risk mitigation actions Actively participates on internal teams that focus on continuous improvement of the company Ensures workplace health and safety policies and procedures are clearly communicated and understood by direct reports and enforces rules fairly and uniformly Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline is preferred 10 or more years of experience working as a Project Manager in the Construction industry is required Experience in the Education/Division of the State Architect (DSA) market is required Knowledge and Skills Effective presentation skills, ability to develop and deliver presentations to the end users, stakeholders, board of education is required Proficient user skills with the MS Suite of tools and Bluebeam is required Working knowledge of standard industry tools such as P6 and Procore is strongly preferred Effective verbal and written communication skills to foster and maintain interpersonal relationships is required Provide leadership and financial management support to the project team is required License and Certifications A Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential, a Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) certification, AND/OR a LEED Professional Accreditation is strongly preferred Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office, an office trailer, and/or in a construction jobsite environment. Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions, and cramped quarters. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, stand, walk, talk or hear and use hands to finger, feel and handle; frequently reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Projects are managed by a combination of a Project Manager and a Lead Engineer. The Project Manager handles customer facing project administration and is responsible for driving project performance and results. The Lead Engineer has overall responsibility for all the technical aspects of each project. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Manager's role will include, but is not limited to: Managing customer relationships and expectations, ensuring customer satisfaction. Understanding contractual requirements and making sure they are met. Developing and managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables. Identifying risks to budget and schedule and orchestrating risk mitigation plans, Reporting project status to external customer(s), the project team, and senior leadership. The Project Manager II manages high dollar value projects (in single or multiple projects), complex budgeting requirements, and multiple program elements and stakeholders, with proven experience in forecasting and managing project risk. Department Summary Facilities Management and Development (FMD), a unit within the Administration and Finance Division (AFD), is responsible for the planning, design, construction, operations, maintenance, and repair of university facilities, grounds, and infrastructure.
