Responsibilities
Your Role:
The ProductionSupervisor is responsible for leading the production team and supervising production workers in their department. This position will assist the plant to achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating results. In addition, this role recruits, hires, and trains employees and enforces company policies and guidelines. This position also evaluates the condition of production equipment.

Manage, direct, and coordinate all activities related to a production shift to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining safety and quality.
Coach production team to be accountable for safety, production, quality, equipment damage, and housekeeping of the department.
Coordinate with Scheduler to ensure daily production requirements are achieved.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Ensure all production data is correctly gathered and reported daily.
Support and improve upon quality initiatives designed to meet plant goals.
Manage safety of the department to ensure that the department is the safest area in the plant and that plant goals are met.
Ensure the department is meeting target accuracy goals and completion rate of the weekly inventory cycle counts; manage warehouse and ensure accuracy of inventory and shipping counts.
In locations where applicable, responsible for complying with the SQF and GMP practices and programs to ensure safe food packaging, and report food safety problems to those with authority to act.

Qualifications
We need you to have:
High School diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of related professional and progressive Manufacturing experience.
Proficient in MS Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
Must be team-oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.
Icing on the cake:

Job Description
The Subcontracts Management Lead is responsible for overseeing the procurement and contract management of major subcontracts executed by the EPC/EPCM contractor on large-scale manufacturing facility projects. This role establishes procurement requirements for the EPC contractor, implements contractual mechanisms that enable client oversight of subcontractor procurement and execution, and ensures compliance with client and contract standards. The position also manages a team of subcontract managers who monitor subcontract procurement and oversee trade contractor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Oversight:
Define procurement requirements and standards for EPC/EPCM contractors during subcontractor selection and engagement.
Develop and implement contractual mechanisms that allow client visibility and control over subcontract procurement and execution
Team Leadership:
Lead and manage a team of subcontract managers responsible for monitoring EPC contractor compliance with subcontracting requirements.
Oversee the team's activities in managing trade contractors during execution phases.
Contract Management:
Ensure subcontracts are procured and managed in accordance with client standards, project specifications, and contractual obligations.
Review and approve EPC contractor's subcontracting plans, bid packages, and award recommendations.
Risk & Compliance:
Identify and mitigate risks related to subcontract procurement and performance.
Monitor adherence to safety, quality, and schedule requirements by trade contractors.
SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Collaborate with internal teams (legal, procurement, engineering, construction, project controls) and EPC contractors to ensure alignment on subcontracting strategies.
Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on subcontracting status, risks, and performance metrics.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
Experience:
10+ years in subcontract management for large-scale industrial or manufacturing projects.
Proven experience overseeing EPC/EPCM subcontracting processes and managing trade contractors.
Strong understanding of U.S. construction laws, procurement regulations, and compliance standards.
Equipment Procurement experience is desirable
Skills:
Leadership and team management capabilities.
Strong negotiation and contract administration skills.

You'll be the driving force behind our production operations, overseeing 20-26 active remodeling projects with an average value of $290,000. This isn't a desk job-you'll spend 70% of your time in the field, working directly with project managers, clients, and trades to ensure every project exceeds expectations.

The ProductionSupervisor - Converting will be responsible for the safe and efficient production operations within the Converting department of the Richmond, VA facility. In this role you will communicate performance expectations to ensure production targets and metrics are met, achieve production demands, supervise machine productivity and quality, as well as supervising, coaching, and mentoring of team members.
This position is located at the Richmond, VA Corrugated Container facility.
Relocation is available for the right candidate.
How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock
* Manage manufacturing employees to include performance reviews and disciplinary actions
* Make recommendations to improve safety, environmental and health of the entire facility
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the shift with constant emphasis on safety, quality, delivery and cost.
* Monitor production activities to eliminate waste and ensure adherence to production and shipping schedule
* Work with other team members to control and improve efficiencies, minimize labor overtime, downtime and repair expenses
* Control load factors and workflow to ensure maximum use of available capacity and effective use of labor, tools and equipment
* Execute safety briefs to team members on designated shift, daily, weekly, monthly and annually
* Monitor workplace safety environment to identify and address any unsafe conditions
* Ensure compliance with plant safety regulations, safe work practices, plant policies, and encourage employees to become safety-conscious
* Monitor and track production daily goals for the Converting machines utilizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and report results on the plant scorecard
* Manage workforce planning, including fulfillment of work schedules and adherence to attendance policies (vacations, floating days, call ins, etc.)
* Communicate effectively with all functional areas of the plant to ensure all production needs are successfully achieved
* Promote positive employee relations and interdepartmental communication and collaboration
* Supervise daily production activities, including oversight of team members, and monitor performance levels of each team member
* Monitor and participate in Daily Management Systems (DMS) to track progress against production goals and enable performance excellence.
What You Need To Succeed
* High School diploma or G.E.D. - Required
* Bachelor's degree (Business Management, Engineering or Operations Management) - Preferred
* 3+ years of converting packaging supervisory experience - Required
* Experience working in a Lean environment; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification.
* Proven experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain
* Excellent communication and listening skills.

* Support the mill ISO system by insuring our department quality standards are being met and by being a mill ISO auditor. Conduct interviews for the mills hiring process for hiring new employees.
* Inspects and checks equipment to assure proper operation.
* Provides leadership for the activities of his/her work team.
* Responsible for cogeneration operations.
* Provides channel of communication between work team and management team.
What You Will Need To Succeed
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university strongly preferred; or five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
