The ASL Interpreter serves as a liaison between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and the campus community. The ASL Interpreter functions as a member of the Center for Student Success team and supports other CSS initiatives as assigned. Essential Functions Perform advanced interpreting services for deaf and hard of hearing students. Serve as liaison between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and members of our campus community. Confer with faculty regarding the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students and the use of interpreters and Typewell transcriptionists in their classrooms. Provide interpreting services for classes, appointments, and other university-sponsored events. Refer students to appropriate college and/or community resources. Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals, policies, and procedures within scope of work. Maintain confidentiality of student records in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ( FERPA ). Abide by the NAD - RID Code of Professional Conduct, Stevenson University policies, and applicable state and federal laws.
