Position Summary Information
Duties
In addition to adhering to the general staff guidelines as specified by the AMSTI Director, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the In-service Center Director, and the State Board of Education, duties will include. Future employment is contingent upon AMSTI funding.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Professional Learning:
* Facilitate and/or participate in professional learning for teachers and/or administrators based on assignments and/or LEA needs, including online options
* Assist AMSTI-ALSDE in developing and maintaining standardized, pre-approved professional learning opportunities and supporting resources for AMSTI and/or for the ALSDE, including online options, and submit them to ALSDE for approval
* Provide ongoing professional learning to AMSTI lead teachers, certified AMSTI facilitators, and instructional coaches
* Assist IHEs with planning and conducting preservice education, continuing education, and outreach activities
* Participate in AMSTI professional learning activities and staff meetings conducted by the ALSDE and site director, unless prior approval for absence is granted
Educator Support:
* Provide frequent, ongoing support and coaching to teachers, AMSTI lead teachers, certified AMSTI facilitators, coaches, and/or administrators based on assignments and/or LEA needs (in situations where the specialist is leading the classroom or team-teaching, the classroom teacher must always be present)
* Assist AMSTI teachers in effectively using common planning time and Professional Learning Communities to improve instruction
* Assist in recruiting new AMSTI teachers and/or facilitators
* Research the effects of current math, science, and/or technology practices in AMSTI classrooms, as requested by the AMSTI-ALSDE
* Coordinate work through the AMSTI Site Director, collaborate with other specialists, and communicate with all stakeholders
* Achieve and maintain proficiency in all standards, pedagogical content knowledge, and AMSTI lessons and practices through AMSTI-ALSDE and approved outside professional learning opportunities, based on the requirements
Instructional Resources:
* Work with general and materials managers to make site-level decisions based on teacher needs and requests
* Provide feedback to the AMSTI-ALSDE regarding the customization of kits and resources to make them teacher and classroom-friendly
General Duties:
* Maintain records (including financial) and complete paperwork in a timely manner, utilizing structures in Monday.com
* Participate in the development, maintenance, and promotion of AMSTI resources according to the resource development and PR guidelines
* Communicate with AMSTI Site Director/PI and AMSTI-ALSDE in advance regarding plans for retirement or resignation (under normal circumstances, a minimum of six-month advance notice is requested)
* Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, those listed in all categories above; specialists may be required to perform other duties as assigned by the AMSTI Site Director or AMSTI-ALSDE
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, STANDARDS, AND TRAINING:
* Valid Alabama Teachers' Certification required
* Bachelor's degree in Elementary with middle school mathematics endorsement or Secondary Education required
* At least 5 years of teaching experience in an Alabama public middle or high school required
* Experience in the 6-12 grade range is required
* AMSTI training at the secondary level in MATH is required
* Clear status with FBI and ABI fingerprinting process
* Knowledge of PC systems and a variety of software
* Skill in time and project management
* Valid Driver's License
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
* Master's degree or higher in Education preferred
* AMSTI MATH trainer certification preferred

SUMMARY
The TechnicalSupport Representative is responsible for reviewing each trouble ticket, whether submitted by third-party tech support or directly by United customers. Field Monitoring and Testing:

Assist with general clerical duties
Provide transportation of clients to and from work, school, appointments, and meetings at the direction of the Facility Director, if assigned to a residential campus
Assist in ensuring the safety and security of client's health, welfare and safety and operation of facility at all times, if assigned to a residential campus, including provision of on-duty, awake staff as assigned
Assist with special projects and assignments per the Executive Director
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must meet the qualification of a Certified Recovery Support Specialist by the Alabama Department of Mental Health and Alabama Medicaid, to include:
A high school diploma or equivalent, and
At least two (2) years of continuous sobriety, and
Concurrent participation in clinical supervision by a licensed or certified QSAP I; OR
Certified by the Alabama Department of Mental Health as a Certified Recovery Support Specialist, and
Concurrent participation in clinical supervision by a licensed or certified QSAP I.
If a recovering person, must have a minimum of two (2) years continuous sobriety.
Must achieve and maintain certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid by an approved certifying agency
Must have an unrestricted, unexpired State of Alabama driver's license and be insurable to drive program vehicles if position could or does require transportation of clients
High level of integrity, dependability, and honesty.
Ability to express ideas and directives clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office software.
