Our Cooks are responsible for preparing food for customers in a fast-paced and efficient manner. They work in conjunction with the front of house staff to ensure that orders are accurate and delivered promptly. Successful applicants must be able to follow recipes and instructions, as well as be able to work independently and as part of a team. They must also be able to handle a high volume of work and be able to work under pressure. Line cooks are a vital part of our successful restaurant team!

As a Line Cook you will have responsibilities such as:
Completing food prep duties including:
Cleaning and cutting ingredients.
Preparing sauces for use in the restaurant.
Assisting with stocking and kitchen station set-up.
Cleaning and maintaining prep areas.
Working with front of house staff to ensure orders fulfill guest's requests.
Cooking food in your station in a timely and effective manner.
Plating dishes based on guidance from a senior team member.
Compliance with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
And be able to meet requirements such as:
The ability to lift and move at least 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
The ability to reach, bend, and twist as needed.
Ability to use hands to control, feel, and operate tools and objects.
Experience within a kitchen environment
Able to follow recipes accurately and to make adjustments as needed to fulfill guests' specifications
The Mustard Seed was started in 1978 in Missoula, Montana by a group of friends and family. Included in that group were sisters Betty and Nancy Tokumoto and Betty's husband, David Hall. Betty and Nancy grew up in Okinawa, Bangkok, and Hawaii and attended college in Oregon; so, they have a unique ability to blend the cooking styles of the Far East with the tastes of the Pacific Northwest. Our recipes were created or inspired by the Tokumoto sisters.
