Manage safety, quality, and productivity of work at sites and yard. Work as a team with Tree Care Supervisor and other Landscape Technicians to execute projects from beginning to completion of jobs Trim, prune, spray, cultivate, plant, transplant, water, fertilize, mulch and remove trees, shrubs, brush, and wood. Diagnose and treat trees and shrubs for insects and disease problems. Read and follow landscape design and installation plans related to projects under construction. Install and maintain shrub, perennial, and annual flower beds Maintain turf areas associated with greenspaces including mowing, weed control, and other duties. Maintain and update administrative paperwork in the field through a tablet or other device. Operate various pieces of motorized equipment, trucks and tools related to duties. Perform emergency tree work as needed. Perform snow and ice control on driveways and sidewalks manually and with power equipment for winter projects. Effectively communicate policy and procedures when asked by residents or staff. Minimum Requirements HS Diploma or equivalent Associate's Degree in urban forestry, horticulture, arboriculture or a closely related field strongly preferred Valid driver's license Ability to lift and transport up to 80 pounds Additional Qualifications Ability to pass and maintain WDATCP pesticide category 3.0 Ornamental and Turf certification. Two years of experience as an Arborist preferred. Ability to perform strenuous physical labor. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time. Knowledge of safe tree trimming procedures, methods and techniques; knowledge of the composition and use of common insecticides, fungicides and fertilizers. Knowledge of the hazards of tree work and necessary safety precautions. Skill in the use of hooks, saws, ropes, ladders, hand tools and power equipment commonly used in trimming and treatment operations.
