The Role Kincaid's Is Music, Inc. is now hiring for an Inside Salesperson. We are a musical instrument and accessory retail store (brick & mortar and online) that helps people find the instruments and accessories they need to make great music that positively impacts humans and the world. Yet many, especially parents of school band and orchestra participants, don't know what they need. We help them find instruments affordably and guide them through their (or their child's) musical journey.
ROLE: Inside Salesperson REPORTS TO: Director of Sales
JOB TYPE: Full-Time Employee (40 hours a week)
LOCATION: Springfield, OH
Mission/ Purpose: Guide those who call, email or come into the store by pointing out relevant and timely solutions to the problems they face, as well as warning them of potential issues they may not yet see, and providing them with a way to easily and affordably navigate those challenges.
Sales being the engine that allows the entire company to run effectively, win/win situations must be found between customer and company so we can continue to help as many people as we can.
You will have three primary roles:
Help identify the needs of our customers (potential or realized) and guide them to the solutions that work best for them. Whether face-to-face, over the phone, via email, chat or social media, guiding customers to the solutions for their musical problems is your top priority. Show our prospective customers that you understand them better than anyone, care about them more than our competitors, and help them by offering our products and services.
Follow up with customers to ensure customer satisfaction while seeking referral opportunities, testimonials, and 5-star Google reviews.
Looking for sales opportunities - proactively seeking to connect with potential customers and/or encouraging them to come in, rather than waiting for them to come to us.
Role Competencies:
Results-Oriented - You are able to set goals, focus on the task at hand, and won't rest until you've achieved them.
Customer Centric - You focus on how we can create a world class experience for our in-store customers and improve customer satisfaction.
Time Management - You are great at time management and know how to protect others' time so they are able to focus on their most important tasks.
Dependability - Not only do you come to work on time each day (you know, the bare necessities of the job), but you contact our customers when you say you will and you consistently come through for your teammates.
Persistent - You don't take โNo'sโ personally, but learn from them in order to turn them into โYes'sโ.
The Benefits
Starting Base Pay (no experience): $31,200 / year
Commission: 10% Gross Margin of sales + multiple spiffs
Expected Income In First Year (range depends on commission): $37,000 - $55,000 / year

MBA's, GPA's, and degrees aren't what we're looking for over here, although if you have them, that's great! What matters more is that your heart is in it and you have a track record of getting stuff done!
That being said, feel free to apply even if you don't check all the boxes below. Just make sure to mention that in your application and explain why we should consider you.
Required:
Have music experience in your past.
Can stand the majority of your workday.
You're capable with online databases and software (we regularly use G-Suite, ActiveCampaign, Podium & Freshdesk).
You are dependable and reliable in your attendance.
Available to work 9am to 6pm EST, 4 Weekdays A Week (Mon-Fri - off on Wednesday), 9am - 1pm EST on Saturdays. (40 hours/wk)

Aren't willing/open to receive constructive feedback.
Struggle with actively listening or being empathetic.

Do not consider yourself one of the most motivated, fearless, results-oriented, resilient, and driven people you know.
Are concerned about being paid partially based on commissions.
Do not consider yourself a people-person.
If you don't resonate with the above disqualifiers and your friends and family can back you up on that, apply today! We may just be a match! ๐

Who Is Kincaid's Music? Kincaid's is the premier community for student musicians, their parents, and music education professionals. It's a place where you can purchase your band & orchestra instruments and accessories, have your instrument repaired, as well as learn the tools and strategies to help musicians reach their full potential. With tens of thousands of customers in Ohio and around the United States, we've become one of the most trusted voices in school music and music education.
What We Do
We take the difficulty out of obtaining an instrument for your child and make it easy to obtain the necessary accessories to keep it playing great. We make an instrumental music education accessible to EVERY CHILD. As experts in music education, we can help guide student musicians, as well as their parents and music educators.
Why We Do It
We're on a mission to increase the number of children we help begin and advance in instrumental music by 50% in the next five years. Why? Because we believe in the power that music has to change the life of a child - just like yours - for the better. We do it because of parents like you who want to set your children up for success in every area of life. And we do it for the educators who work hard every day to make music a reality in our schools and communities.
We Believe...
...music is a movement - every child should have the opportunity to learn.
...anyone
can
learn music (even those who say they can't carry a tune in a bucket).
...music is unlike most other skills in that it can be enjoyed for a lifetime.
...the top three factors for becoming a strong instrumental musician are great educators, supportive parents/guardians, and the intrinsic desire of the student to learn.
...companies who prioritize making a buck over helping children succeed in music don't deserve to succeed, themselves.
...laughter
is
the best medicine, though it's in a tie for โbestโ with music.
...in finding the win/win in every situation - our customers don't have to lose so we can win, nor do we have to win at the expense of our customers.
...no one has all the answers.
...in knowing what others don't and doing what others won't.
...we can help school bands and orchestras grow and succeed.
...everyone should learn something new every day.
We believe in the extraordinary power of music!
