Broad River Retail is currently seeking an Experience & Events Intern to join our People team. This role will be responsible for directly assisting the Experience & Events Team with a wide range of projects related to the Broad River Retail's culture development and employee engagement and retention.
In this position, you will collaborate with multiple partners to support programs, events, company communication, and employee recognition and support programs. This internship will teach you the ins and outs of creating and maintaining an exceptional employee experience.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Ensure the Memory Maker experience is intentionally and professionally cared for by taking ownership of key tasks that contribute to exceptional employee experience.
Support the coordination and execution of company-wide employee recognition and reward programs, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and care.
Demonstrate strong collaboration skills by working effectively with partners across departments to support shared goals and deliver high-quality results.
Assist in the planning and execution of our employee support programs through exceptional communication, attention to detail, and strong follow-through.
Assist in the planning and execution of company celebrations, engagement activities, and events with a focus on creating positive, memorable experiences.
Collaborate with the Experience & Events team to write, design, and refine internal communications that are clear, polished, and aligned with team, brand, and culture standards.
Support the People Department with team meetings, projects, and initiatives as needed.
Use sound judgment and maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
Take initiative in identifying opportunities to improve processes, elevate the employee experience, and contribute meaningfully to projects beyond day-to-day tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Working towards or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High degree of professionalism and ability to effectively collaborate with peers.
Self-motivated, ambitious, problem solver, who is flexible and adaptive to change.
Must be highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of PowerPoint & Excel.

JOB OVERVIEW
The Manager, Events is an integral position on Wasserman Live's Event Team responsible for the successful delivery of projects, from brief to execution. With a strong focus on event operations, this role will plan, manage, and execute events with new and existing clients ensuring that projects are delivered on-time, on-budget and of a quality as expected by Wasserman and its clients.
Due to the nature of event delivery, this role requires domestic US travel to and from event sites.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Responsible for day-to-day planning, oversight and delivery of numerous events in a lead or support capacity
* Work collaboratively with all Wasserman teams to ensure flawless project delivery against the client's objectives and agreed budget
* Manage project budgets from start to finish, ensuring all aspects of the projects are correctly budgeted for and meet expected financial targets
* Anticipate challenges and proactively handle any arising issues across various entities to ensure flawless planning and execution
* Manage internal and external vendor relationships for all aspects of the event cycle including but not limited to: technical production, staging, graphics, creative and environmental design, fabrication, guest flow, food and beverage, transportation, staffing, venue and labor and other project executional vendor partnerships as necessary
* Manage and develop the relationships with Wasserman trusted suppliers and third-parties, throughout the duration of projects
* Develop and adhere to the program timeline and workback schedule, including key dates and deliverables to ensure milestones are met and that the project remains ahead of client expectations
* Provide regular communication to internal and client teams regarding roles and responsibilities, budget, schedules, and project status
* Build and maintain effective client relationships, ensuring that all client needs are addressed in a timely fashion throughout the duration of projects
* Showcase forward-thinking initiative to identify the best strategic opportunities and provide new ideas in the ever-changing events landscape
* Conduct post-event evaluations and recaps to showcase event success and ROI
* Follow all project processes and procedures and quality standards

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
* Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
* 2 - 4 years relevant / increasing event management and operations experience (preferably in experiential, sports or entertainment field)
* Ability to remain calm under pressure, work on multiple projects simultaneously and achieve deadlines
* Possess exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
* Must be comfortable working as an integral part of a team environment
* Open-minded mentality, allowing thorough exploration of all ideas and thought-starters
* Must thrive on a fast-paced environment and possess a 'can-do' attitude continuously
* Continuously demonstrates solution-oriented mentality

Overview
The Event Management Intern will learn to coordinate and execute events to completion. This internship is a comprehensive, hands-on learning program designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and professional practice. Responsibilities
Assist the Events Department in coordinating various types of events, including but not limited to, meetings, banquets, conferences, sports, concerts and graduations.
Perform a variety of event day task as assigned by the Events Department.
Interact with Crown Complex staff when working on various events.
Learn the various aspects of event activities in order to field event related emails and phone calls.
Attend various meetings that will be beneficial in completing tasks.
Research special projects as suggested by management as a form of experiential learning.
Other assignments that will support the intern and their learning experience.
Qualifications
Must be a college student or graduate student
Recommended for Sport Management, Management, or Hospitality Majors
Financial compensation is available, but housing and transportation are the responsibility of the selected candidate
Availability to work 24+ hours a week, including evenings and weekends
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing is required
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to function and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
